My first grow AK48

Hi All,
This is my first real grow attempt. My plant is a nirvana ak48 feminized seed. When I first germinated her I was using a prepara power plant. Sorta like an aerogarden. I was using the nutes that came with it & 2 weeks into growing she wasn't looking good. I ended up transplanting her to ffof & the only nute I use now is big bloom. I had cut out the dead leaves she had & for a good week she didn't grow or anything. Well this past week she started growing again

How does she look to you ? She stands roughly 10 inches tall. The 15th will be a month from the day that she germinated. Should I add on another week of vegging because of the time she wasn't growing ?

I would be thrilled if I could keep her 3.5 feet when harvest time comes around. Do you think she will get bigger than that ? If so that would be ok I guess

maybe a week or two

nice dude im at the same time frame you are.. my plant is about 10" as well and in 8-10 days will be day 30 of veg.. ill switch to flower for another 2 months.. mine is in a bubble bucket and my ph pen was not calibrated right and my ph dropped to 4.0-5.0 fucked up my leaves to but its healing... id say flower at ur 30day mark.. plants still grow while there flowering...they grow a lot.. adding another week wouldnt do that much in my opinion

I think you will be really close, however remember dates for veg or flower are just guidelines, you have to be one with the plant and do what the plants wants, she will tell you when she is ready. Plenty of foreplay will reap benefits later.

She likes when I spend time with her between 2:30pm - 6:30pm when we sit together in the western windowsill. I'm a little embarrassed to say this but I will because I'm stoned. Every day when her & I have our date. I give her a quarter turn in the sun every hour plus I let the ac fan tickle her

What are you using for light? And how are you feeding her???

Looks like she is under vegged and needs more N. Light in color

If you want get some screws and screw then in the bucket get rope and do some LST with those Bud spots. SO MORE light gets to those branches. :wave:

But let me get some info.

I was using two 85watt cfl's 6500k each with one 42 watt cfl 2700k. I recently acquired a sun system 150watt hps ballast/reflector with bulb. I've switched to using that this past week & the plant loves it better than the cfl's. I know I'll be getting a 250watt hps system soon enough. For now I'll make do. Oh I forgot. I do have a bright wing reflector with a 250 watt 8u cfl 2700k. That should be good for flowering


I feed her with the fox farm schedule for soil. 2 tablespoons of big bloom to 1 gallon of distilled water. I have a very small cup I use to give her 1 to 2 cup fulls every couple of days. I definitely don't over water her !!

I wont be using any other nutes. I like the organic soil & fert.

Lst'ing. I want to do that but someone once told me that if i stress out a feminized plant that it could easily go hermie. What's your take on that ? Being a noob to growing I didn't want to mess around with my first plant. My thumbs have an amber tint to them but slowly are getting green.

Looks good bro, I would let it veg a little longer too, and lst it, it won't hermie... you'll make good use out of that light if you make a nice little canopy...

No a Female Is really a Fem In my eyes. You make it a hermie by germinating it or pollenating it with a male. I lst most or all the plants I do. you will get more out of your plant!!

Um I would Give it 4 Tablespoons of the Big Bloom. It needs the Grow Big. Your light in color and it is Nitrogen it needs too. So I would look into the Trio Soil Pack. It is worth it if your going to use FF. Or you can get the Soluables. i think those are organic.

Nice on the lights you have plenty. What are your temps also?

What size pot?? And What is your PH?

I was going to get the trio but I did read some ingredients were not organic in the grow big & tiger bloom. I've always been under the impression that if I was strictly organic I wouldn't need to worry about ph. Recently I read that salt could build up in organic. I will get a ph test kit soon. Since my leaves & the entire plant is a deep green & very healthy I haven't rushed out for a ph kit. I'll get one. She is actually in her temporary home. Right now she is living in a grow tent that only measures 16" x 16" x 48". i have 2 140mm intake fans blowing 75degree temps on her. This past saturday I picked up a wardroble closet that measures Width: 31 7/8" x 19 5/8" x 70 7/8" Yesterday I ordered a 8 inch wall exhaust fan for greenhouses, sun rooms blah blah laundry room & garages that sucks the air 250 cfm. I'll have a 4 inch intake on the bottom with 2 elbow joints so no light gets in. It's already painted white inside but I will probably hook it up with mylar like you see in the tent. As fas as temps go right now with the tent, aslong as I keep the top of my plant at least 18 inches away from the light I'm not having any heat problems.

She will love her new home.

Since there is no ole lady here with me, tonight as I lay in bed & think of my plant, lst'ing some of the lower branches will be at the top of my thoughts. Does the lower branches sound like a good place to start ?

The pot holds roughly 6.5 quarts of soil.

Yeah that would be a good place to start, try to tie/stake them down in a position to where you can give your main stem plenty of room to wrap around the edge of the pot.

That plant is not Very Healthy and Dark Green I dont know where you see that. Even with your HPS light On you can see and tell its light in color.

I use the FF trio Pack and The FF Ocean Mist soil. I do not check PH of my Run-Off. I just check the Water PH that I am feeding her. That is because FF soil is Regulated itself. I just add Perilite. A handful to 2/3s soil. You need to FEED HER MORE!! She is under Nuted.

If you want the help let me know. I am here to help you. Also bring that light down. You want it to be about 2-3"s away from the plant. Take a look at my indoor grow and you will see Healthy plants. And how close I have the CFLS to my plants. You need to get on your reading game too. Take a look at other peoples grow.

Did you top her or are going to? There is alot you can do with That Plant. Also that Grow Pot is TOO SMALL. There are 4 quarts to a Gallon. You would need 2-3 gallons for that plant. That could be also why your plant is not growing. ROOT BOUND! So I would also look into a Bigger Home. :D

You have got to be kidding me with placing the hps bulb within inches of the plant. If I was using Cfl that would be a different story. The plant is growing. The only time she wasn't growing was when I took her out of a flow system & put her in soil. Once she adapted to the soil then she started growing again.

Take a look at this photo. I just took the pic a few minutes ago. That is not healthy to you ? It looks green to me. Reading is what I do, & i will keep reading. She'll have a bigger home soon enough. This is a grow to gain knowledge. Live & learn, get a feel for growing. I'm not concerned about multiple colas/tops, I have 4 more of these fem seeds for growing with & each one will be grown differently: scrog, lst'ing, symmetrical

How big is that pot now? Transplanting Durng Flowring is a NO NO.... If your that close to flowering also, And your going to transplant. I would veg her for another week or more. So that way the roots are stimulated and bound into its new home. Also the plant will have less stress and make it less a male. If you need help let me know. I did this and I can show you why not to tranny then. If you search my name you will find my first indoor grow. And see a nice sexy male.

She is still in the same pot. She did grow another 2 inches these past 2 days. I'm going to head out to home depot after work for a bigger pot plus supplies to her new grow cabinet. & then hit a local hydro store for more FFOF

Yesterday I assembled the wardrobe closet that will be her new home. I'll share photos later today. She will have a bigger pot & bigger home before weekends over. I probably will give her an extra week to veg. We'll see

so far I'm pleased with the smell. It's pungent !! Everytime I go near the plant I'm ready to head out in the garage & spark up. I'm not going to let her go longer than 30days, she & I are both ready for flowering

Here is a photo that I just took of her. She only looks yellow due to the hps bulb, other than the tips on new growth yellow & older leaves on bottom with brown tips. she is very dark green & healthy. She was flushed a few days ago due to using big bloom throughout the whole veg stage which was not even necessary, It caught up with her this week so I acted right away. Overall she's doing great & I'm very happy with growing ak48 so far. She stands now @ 14inches & has outgrown the vegging tent. Tomorrow she will move into her new home for flowering & then I'll send some good pics of her new pad that I put together.

i HAD A PLANT AND STARETD FLOWERING HER AT 2 FEET...shes comin close 2 harevst now and shes about 5.5 feet tall...almost trippled in size using an hps light...cfls cause more stretch so in my opinion if you want her under 3.5 feet at harvest...id flower her at about 13 or 14" i wouldnt let her get taller then 18" to 20" befor you flower her, thats just wat id say from my learnign experiences...every strain is different tho, good luck and happy growing....

Look at your plant and the color of the stem, and the main branches. If you think I dont know what I am talking about with Nutrients, PH level, and Soil Content. You must think again. Just look at your baby. It speaks for itself. Plant Abuse Chart

Also I have Not over fed, or anything to my plants. If I have bro. do you think they would look so Green So healthy and so nice?? I mean they say you cant TOP an Auto, But I did! Just read, and think before you go start talking and posting. I think you were a little rude and need to learn repsect. You are new here and dont know me very well. Search my name, youll find alot on me. And alot of peeps have respect for me.

Just take a look and read about the plant. It needs more Nitrogen and alot of it. There are other nutes being blocked out also. I just dont have all the info I need from your plant. You take 1 pic and its not that great of a pic and ask peeps all crazy questions.
Your lucky there are nice people here. Most will tell you,. USE the SEARCH. I just like to help all growers I can fast. So they dont make the mistake I did. Well Take care:wave:

You saying to me now that you didn't over feed yours when you clearly said you fed it two days in a row. I think that counts for over feeding. Tea concoctions & multiple nutes at 4tablespoons per gallon of each nute just sounds like way to much to me. Is that what you do or was that the advice you were giving me ? Either way, 4 tablespoons of fox farm nutes per gallon of distilled water is way to much. Cheers to you & all your posts but that doesn't mean your advice is right. So many new growers could easily have their plants sabotaged if they took that advice of tablespoons per gallon. pffft

What are all the crazy questions I have asked ? I don't need anyone to hold my hand when I grow. lol

she will keep growing for the 1-2 weeks of flower all i do if they are not big enough i feed grow nutes rather than bloom for the first week:)
