  4. I've never listended to them before. What greatful dead album would you guys reccomend getting? I might get acid next weekend and I wanna see what all the fuss is, and I'd like to be surprised so I'm only gonna listen to it once I start trippin.

  5. i think for general listening and an intro to the dead style "Europe 72" is it.

as far as something to listen to when dosing? Any full show would do you well imo. (any of the dick's picks albums)
or maybe "Blues for Allah" that's some trippy shit.

  16. This thread is full of win, but why only post videos. How about some experiences or stories. I was at the dead at rothbury and got to chattin with an old dude whod been touring on and off from the start, it was sweet that him and his wife met at a dead show and were still going to them, must been 60 something. anyways i told him it was my first show, and ive been obsessed for years, yadayada. I was on another planet but thats another story. But it was pretty sweet talking to this guy and he was like well i hope ya like what you see and "welcome home" and gave me a hug, idk why but its really stuck out as something significant. it was sweet being around people of all ages, some other dude too who was older looked like a straight nerd, but i mean he was munchin on shrooms and i was talking to him and he was hilarious. cant judge a book by its cove.r listenin to black peter right now from 6-14-84 redrocks, seems to be a solid show.

  17. I'm listening to Dancing in the Streets right now...good stuff. I personally dont have any Dead stories but my friends mom grew up in the 60s and met this dude at a party one time. He ended up asking her what she thought about the Dead and she said she thought they were a bunch of hippies who couldnt play.. she later found out this was Jerry Garcia haha

  18. nice man! (i might ramble here)

it's so cool going to shows now and seeing the different age groups that still go. when i started going to shows (1986) i was part of that 16 year old croud and remember the older heads always being so cool and friendly..

now i go and i see so many younger people there.. i just think it's amazing that this music is enjoyed by so many generations.. it really says something.

man i had so many amazing experiences with the dead.. the whole scene had a real positive impact on my life. I wouldn't trade that for anything.

some of the best memories we're spring and fall tours at MSG in NY. They'd to 8-10 night runs there.
me and probably 20 others from my high school would take the train into the city and back everyday after school.
We'd pretty much take over a whole car on the train and just party on the way up and on the way back (smoking was still allowed back then).
Man i remember showing up at school many times all fried and sizzled out from dosing the night before and sleeping for like 2 hours..

    i miss those days..
