This strain is a SKUNK #1 x HAWAIIAN hybrid. the plants were 3 months old at the time I started them flowering, they had been brought to this stage only by sunlight at a window, hence the smallish spindly growth. The first 2 photos show weeks 1 and 2 of flowering, again using sunlight only. I used ordinary plant food with a good nitrogen content to this stage.
My next post will show the 125w flouro set-up and results at week 3.
Any comments or advice would be much appreciated as this is a first time grow.

these photos show the set up, using a 125w flouro ECOLIGHT bulb. these bulbs produce very little heat (and little humidity) enabling them to be positioned very close to the plants. i don't use any fans and rely on the gaps in the door for ventilation, and the door is opened several times a day! this seems to be working so far but any comments or advice would be cool.

these photos show plants after 1 week under the bulb on a 12 on - 12 off basis.
At this point I started using Hydro-pro fertiliser once a week. The plants have really come on well:)

Very nice I do agree for the type of light you are using. If anything I would add another one of those bulbs you have, a fan to strengthen the stems as they grow and dissipate heat. Keep the lights very close to the plant in early growth so they grow out not as much up.

Keep up the good work mate. Looks like nice harvest.

good grow for your first time, and a good grow with fluros, like gonnagrow was saying, i'd add in more fluros if you can, i'd hang them between the 2 plants, at about 1/2 wat down from the cola..........it'll help you get tighter buds, and more of them............are you planning on buying an HPS for your next grow?..........as it's not much bigger than the fluro box you have at the moment...........and looking at that growspace, it's about the size of mine.........go for a 400 or 600w..............happy growing..........Peace out.........Sid

ps, and i'd add a fan, it's also used to help reduce humidity..........you want about 30-50% for flowering............the drier the better, so as you don't get any moldy buds.............Peace out......Sid

photos attached show 5 weeks flowering, things are starting to look really good. The buds have a sweet fruity smell to them and are nice and sticky. I'm beginning to notice more of the hairs turning brown - maybe about 15% at the moment, I going to wait until about 80% are brown before harvesting, if anyone can tell me more about this and if things are running to the corret timescale that would be cool.
Thanks for the replies guys. the plants are roughly 4ft tall and are a full 5 weeks flowering, grow space is about 3½ft wide, 2ft deep and at its highest about 8ft. I'll try adding a fan to them today - does the fan only need to be on when the light is on? If the bud was going to show signs of mould, would it have done so by now or is this something I should be checking for on a regular basis? Will add more photo's to this thread next week to let you all see how they're doing. Cheers for now. Polski :D

Forgot to mention the bulb ! It is an ECOLITE bulb, they come in 2 spectrums, 1 for flowering(red spectrum) and 1 for veg growth (blue spectrum). I'm usuing the red spectrum bulb here. Blue spectrum bulbs have been described as producing 'aggressive veg growth', although I haven't tried them. As they are only 125w, they're really cheap to run. I'm going to wait and see what results I get from this one before considering upgrading to anything else. I cant fault these bulbs at the moment and have been pleasantly surprised with the results so far.

Cheers all.

Nice work! ;)
Love to see good results with flouro's :hello:
Ya the blue spectrum flouro will keep your plants short and bushy in veg alright, but it all depends on the strain as well.
If u get some 'warm white'/red spectrum Cfl's and put em around the side it would definitely increase your yield! ;)
Good luck man, and enjoy!
