Limbaugh calls Obama a FASCIST

  1. Fixed.

  2. Nazi Germany - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
I'm dropping a link to the wiki article so it doesn't seem like I assume I know what I'm talking about.

Unemployment went from 30% to 10%, their money was actually worth something, so they did something right. But, their ideology was flawed to begin with, so it obviously wasn't sustainable. They had the Hitler factor to deal with.

I'm no master of economics, but just because the Nazis did it doesn't mean it's not a realm to explore. The same argument correlates with the topic of weed: It was considered 'evil' for 70 years. Just because some assholes couldn't handle their shit, does that mean we shouldn't legalize pot?

    That question is rhetorical.

  3. We've been exploring it since FDR. Keynes was enthused with the German example:

We fix prices through setting artificial interest rates, fractional reserve banking and quantitative easing, the government tries to create jobs and prosperity after they destroy them, the state is heavily involved with regulating industry and enmeshed with corporate monopolies. Why do you think we've become more and more totalitarian?

And you're right, it's not sustainable. By 1944 their monetary base had expanded 16 times from 1933, bank credit 7 times, $16 billion in debt and a deficit larger than all the capital markets. War expenditures were obviously always a huge part of their economy, and we have also adopted the permanent war model.

When all this caught up to bite them in the ass, Germany refused to make payments on their debt, confiscated funds from private individuals, cancelled private debts, forceably reduced interest rates on private loans and transferred the resulting funds to the state.

So what are we gonna do when all our excessive spending and debt catches up? Keep printing money and borrowing? Go to war again?

  4. :confused_2: What're we gonna do when China wants its money back?

    Hemp production ftw, imho.

  5. It's not my fault that you clearly exhibit a fundamentally flawed capacity to reason. Oranges are round. Spherical objects are made up 360 concentric circles. Circles are ROUND. The side of an orange is ROUND. Therefore, and ORANGE is ROUND. Just because it has bumps doesn't not make it round. For fucks sake, take a damn geometry class. Corners or furniture are considered rounded because if they weren't rounded running into them would be more painful. Just because it isn't a perfect goddamn sphere doesn't disqualify it from being round.

    /facepalm

Fucking retards on the internet theses days.

Says the guy who knows jackshit about economics, but runs around spewing your socialist garbage at every corner. You probably haven't even read any political or philosophical texts other than what is parroted in public shools and what you read from stupid Union blogs and dumb left-wing sites.

  6. How did this turn into geometry 101?:D

  7. Because some retard doesn't believe an orange is round.

    Hard to believe, eh?

  8. ecstasy, my appologies for spelling it wrong if thats what you were trying to say, because ecstasy was combated with the war on drugs, it still goes on today.

ok, once and for all i'm gunna go to dictionary.com so none of my fellow gc posters have to listen to you anymore, it's quite, quite sad, i never thought i'd have to show someone what round ment in the dictionary, especially after my 4 yr old cousin didn't even need it

^^this is what round means^^ there is no inclination that a circle has to be a perfect sphere. you may have heard other advanced english users use the phrase "perfectly round" because round it's self does not imply a perfect sphere.

^^this is what sphere(what you reffered to an orange as) means. i know alot of people who are blind enough to follow democrat leaders would try to argue against something this obvious, even when the evidence is laid out right in front of them they still can't accept it.
maybe he'll resort to the "dictionary.com is a bunch of capitalist liars arguement.

you have made it quite evident here that most farmers are not educated.

  10. Ahem...You city kids do know there's more than one type of Orange, dont you?
    Orange - LoveToKnow 1911

    Savvy there, slick?
If you find yourself in agreement with this guy, then Rush will appeal to you, too.

Just be prepared to be wrong a lot...But you are right, if I ignore all the flat spots, and the ovate shape, and the nodule at the top which is shaped the bell on a cymbal, its actually almost roundish.

Thank you for playing with your educations today, people. Keep up the good work on reading comprehension, as well!

  11. Only on the internet will people doubt an orange is round...

  12. Or if they have one in their hand...

I just went and checked a whole bag of oranges and they all have a flat spot on them, and a big bump on top?

I've never seen a round thing with an apex before...

How can something pointed with a tip, or peak, be considered round?

It sounds like a difference of opinion.

The encyclopedia must be mistaken, I guess.

You know how those damned botanists lie all the time!:D

  13. This really is astounding. Not only do we have one person who doesn't think an orange is round, we have two.

Not only are you stupid enough to believe an orange isn't round, you don't even read your own damn encylopedia.

You even posted that, trying to prove me wrong. And your own information says it's round.

Fucking retards, honestly. Where do these people come from?

  14. yup, those oranges look pretty round to me, an apple is round as well believe it or not, despite the bumps and dents and flat spots, because as referenced in the dictionary it does not imply it's 100% perfect, it is just in general a circular shape, like a golf ball, that is round, even after all those dimples, but you can keep trying your best. i think we both know which one of us looks like a dumbass right now tho :p(gotta add the smiley haha)

  15. But dude, he's an orange farmer! He clearly knows oranges are not round.

    /facefuckingpalm

  16. It's interesting to see what a discussion about Rush Limbaugh and fascism turns into . . .

  17. I'm just mad I missed the poll.

  18. The way max and limbaugh are using the term fascism it could be applied to just about any political ideology where the government has any significant kind of power. If you get specific with the definition though it should be obvious that Obama isn't a fascist, but a socialist or, IMO, a pragmatist.

    • Main Entry: fas·cism
    • Pronunciation: \ˈfa-ˌshi-zəm also ˈfa-ˌsi-\
    • Function: noun
    • Etymology: Italian fascismo, from fascio bundle, fasces, group, from Latin fascis bundle & fasces fasces
    • Date: 1921
1 often capitalized : a political philosophy, movement, or regime (as that of the Fascisti) that exalts nation and often race above the individual and that stands for a centralized autocratic government headed by a dictatorial leader, severe economic and social regimentation, and forcible suppression of opposition
2 : a tendency toward or actual exercise of strong autocratic or dictatorial control

Now for a little poisoning of the well:

"The FDA says there's no -- zilch, zero, nada -- shred of medicinal value to the evil weed marijuana. This is going to be a setback to the long-haired, maggot-infested, dope-smoking crowd."
    Limbaugh - Radio broadcast, Apr. 21, 2006

"There's just no comparison," retorted Limbaugh. "Oxy is not even in the same ballpark as weed. The liberal media trumps weed up because they hate the pharmaceutical industry and they want to see a natural product continue to thrive in today's market. Shit, half the time when I smoke a doobie I don't even feel it. Now if you want to compare oxy with, say, smack then maybe we have a discussion."

"I have a solution for Mrs. [Jocelyn] Elders. I mean, if she wants to legalize drugs, send the people who want to do drugs to London and Zurich and let's be rid of them. Now...The problem with legalizing drugs is, it's just another abhorrent example of human behavior that we've suddenly decided, "Hey, we can't handle it. We've given up and we're going to sanction the destruction of lives. We're going to let you destroy your life. We're going to make it easy, and then all of us who accept the responsibilities of life and don't destroy our lives on drugs--we'll pay for whatever messes you get into."...

I'm appalled at people who simply want to look at all this abhorrent behavior and say, "Hey, you know, we can't control it anymore. People are going to do drugs anyway. Let's legalize it." It's a dumb idea. It's a rotten idea, and those who are for it are purely, 100 percent selfish."
