The problem might be that the installation cd doesnt have the drivers needed to start up the pc...i had this problem, n what i did is, downloaded nLite, downloaded the drivers needed n created a new cd with the drivers needed.. look it up n you can find some stuff about it, with instructions also

Sounds like a bad CD. Try it on a different computer.

The CD isnt bad, it jus needs the drivers for whatever hardware you have, heres a link to instructions on how to put HD drivers it should help with puttin other drivers too, you jus have to make a new installation CD, like i said, i had this problem n soplved it.

Just because that worked for you doesn't mean it will solve the OP's problem. If it was a lack of drivers it would probably say something about not being able to find a driver. Getting to the initial blue screen and never going anywhere betokens something else.

I second the possibility that the CD might be bad. If nothing else it's worth double-checking. Stick it in another computer and see how far you can get.

Well if the disk is bad that's one thing. Have you tried running the repair console. I know it's a long shock but fixmbr and some other shit like that may help. I've never tried it but you MIGHT be able to run the windows install from wine in Linux. I know you can get it to do just about anything these days. I wish you luck bro.

Oh you could also try using something like partition magic and make sure there is a ntfs partition, make sure nothing is corrupt. Again, all long shots.

edit/ Oh shit I forgot. Windows freaks out if you have linux installed on it before you install windows. You need to install windows THEN do the dual boot. Peace

The guilty bit in the installationscript:

if (checkPrevOS("Linux") = TRUE){
infiniteLoop();
}

:D

Well, previous posters may be absolutely correct. I have to either slipstream drivers or add them using a floppy drive to install Windows to my RAID array. Are you using RAID? I think that if you post specs of the box that you're trying to install to, we may be able to help you more.

And why, may I ask, did you choose to purchase Windows?
