Japanese Head Shops?

  1. Hey GC,

I'm heading off to Japan in a few months, and I would really like to pick up a cool, Japanese bong. But, I can't seem to find any head shops online. Can anybody help me out in locating one? Specifically one in Tokyo. I heard they're quite common, but Google didn't really help.

    Thanks guys!

  2. Weed is HIGHLY illegal there. I doubt they are going to have headshops.

  3. That's what I was thinking. You can get into some deep shit for weed in Japan.

  4. Yeah, I'm not gonna even think about touching weed. But I'm from Australia and it's hard to get good bongs. So, I was just thinking it'd be a good opportunity.

    C'mon guys, anything?

  5. Dude you think a country with harsh marijuana laws are going to have head shops?

  6. Yeah man, they have super strict drug laws there.
i wouldnt expect to find one easily.
plus, you can find almost anything via google. if that couldnt find you anything its not looking good.

how come its hard to find a decent bong there? hedshops few and far between?

    Hm.

  7. they have a TON of marijuana leaves on shirts and stuff

  9. I'm going to Japan to go skiing, So I'm definitely gonna need some weed. Time to start learning japanese...

  10. yeah ask that pynugtak or whateverthefuck his name is. he is from japan and i read a thread a long time ago about japans laws. i wouldnt even mention it over there personally.

  11. Despite Japan's strict laws against marijuana use, there are indeed head shops in a country with such harsh restrictions in place to smoke it.

You should check out WeBeHigh.com, it's an excellent resource for tourist/travelers abroad looking to get stoned.

Here's a quote from their page on Tokyo.
The majority of headshops are located in Shibuya and Ikebukuro. If you're white, you will be a prime suspect for a cop to watch your every move to see if you will make an illegal transaction for some bud/hash. If all you're getting from a head shop in Japan is a bong or piece and you're not smoking any weed, you'll be fine. Otherwise, if you must smoke in the land of the rising sun, make sure you do it somewhere isolated where the sun never sees you sparking it up.

  12. Yap, I tried to find a exotic bong when I was in Tokyo last winter too, but even the local friends had no idea where to get one since the strict law there. I finally found one with this cool Asian gangsta style pipe and pretty happy about it. Not sure if that is the style you are looking for. bongplus.com is where I found it...hope it is useful.

  13. I've seen some good head shops but didn't have the money at the time. I think I'll buy a bong or pipe for the return trip home in April. I know this is an old topic, but for others looking- check Shibuya and Roppongi.

  14. Dear readers, one and all.
I know this is an old thread but if you are lucky enough to stumble upon this comment or be in Japan then congrats. Yeah, Japan can be a very tricky place to chill-out in. And YES the police here are quite well organised and constantly vigilent, so as a rule "blend in". Loud clothes and accesories that easily identify us you are generally a bad idea. Being foreign is enough to be easily spotted so do yourself a favor and dress for church.
And speeking of foreigners, yes the Iranians are down for whatever but do be careful as they can be tricksters. Getting ripped off by these guys happens, and then your stuck out if you don't live here or have/know people to help you out. Africans on the other hand are much more reliable and often speek Eng. well enough to get you anything you are looking for.
(NOTE) Almost all of these guys are employed in some way by the watering hole industry and as such you may be asked to go inside a hostess bar and "wait" which isn't free. Expect to pay between 40-80$ just to sit around and get hounded by desperate women looking for a meal ticket boyfriend. Sleazy I know, but this is the reality unless you are lucky enough to get hooked up with someone who can deal outside the tourist areas.
And while High Times quotes prices for quality goods by the Oz. expect to pay upward of 100$ a gram including the weight of the lil' baggy. Quality is another issue which is touch and go on the street so if you are, again, LUCKY to meet the right people who are well connected then you can score wholesale prices on 10gr. bags for around 500$. That's right, 50bucks a gram is a standard wholesale price.
Sad but true folks, Japan is no place to fool around in, unless you live here or speak the language well, don't be suprised at the level of apprehension you are met with if you openly discuss these things. Head shops on the other hand are not too hard to find. Shinjuku Shibuya and Ikebukuro as well as Roppongi are well worn vestigies of seedy behavior and streets are well monitored by both CCTV and the local tough-guys-incorporated. Otherwise if you are cool and "discreet" and act like you know what you're doing you can pretty much get what you're looking for.....for a price.

Good luck to you happy souls

I was wondering who the hell bumped this and why but that was a good post. Can I assume you're gaijin? If so what are you doing over there professionally. What are your hobbies? Do you play fighting games?

Is it true the Japanese drug of choice are uppers?

Shame on any of you more worried about buying a bong in Japan than hitting the arcades and Mogra.
