Hey all, I'm fairly new around here though I've been reading the forums for almost a year. I recently started my first grow with some bagseed. Of the 7 seeds I set to germinate, 6 sprouted roots and are now sprouting stems in soil! I decided to grow with soil indoor because I'm new to this and felt that it would be the most forgiving method of growing. I'm using Organic Miracle Grow mixed with Perlite. The seeds were planted about 36 hours ago and are sprouting stems with a 19W Flourescent about 7" overhead, 24 hrs a day. After the plants grow and I can remove the males, I'll select the two best females to transplant, as that's all I have room for. Those will be place in a grow box about 4' tall, 3' wide, which I've lined on the inside with foil. I'm suspending two flourescent bulbs with a combined lumine count of 1020. Will this be enough? If anyone has any feedback or suggestions, please take the time to respond. Thanks.
I flower with 85'000 lumens in a 2x3. Go HID, save the fluoros for veg. and scrap the foil. Use flat white paint or panda film, mylar.
the plants are going to veg in a pc tower, which is lined on the inside with flat white posterboard. they'll flower in a seperate growbox, with only 1020 lumens. How much will the HID lights run me? I'm working with a very tight budget.
you will need more than 1020 lumens to flower for any results, weather its HID or cfl etc you will need more light (lumens)
600w for two plants may be overkill. plus you'd have to worry about ventilation to cool lights etc etc. Look into growing with cfl's, its a good way to start off. 150 actual watts should be the minimum for two plants. Be sure theyre the right spectrum as well, 2700k for flowering 6500k for veg. Goodluck
