how much electricity does a vape use?

  1. I've been thinking about getting a vaporizer for quite some time. A huge question is;

    does a vaporizer use allot of electricity?

    Like, do you think a noticeably larger amount of electricity used or am I just being sketchy. I don't want to cost my parents an abundance in electric bills, especially since they are paying for some of my college in loans that they signed off on.

    I plan on purchasing one soon and I'll be using it till mid September in their house, or my car if I can find a adapter. Then, when I come home for visits. Plus I'll probably still be using it by next summer.

    [by the way, my headshop only sells dome vapes, nothing fancy and I don't want to use my credit card to buy one online]

  2. It's over 9000!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  3. Would you feel reluctant to use a microwave? A lamp? Its not going to be noticeably different...

  4. Yeah hair dryer at most.

  5. All that a vape is is basically wire going around in a circle and conducting electricity through it enough to heat up. It won't use very much at all, a D cell battery can get a wire red hot if that puts it into perspective a bit.

  6. thanks for the replies.

    I've only used a vaporizer twice and both times, the sesh's were like half an hour with a bowl being passed around as well between 4 guys.

    So, it got me thinking about a electricity bill and how bad two sessions could be.

    So thanks guys. Now I can happily buy one :hello:

  7. Actually conducting heat from electricity is one of the most energy consuming methods, although your blow dryer or a back massager most likely uses more.

  8. If you're worried... just compensate. Turn off the tv, the lights, etc when you typically might leave them on when it isn't necessary.

  9. i'd advise getting one off the internet, theres really nothing to fear if you order from a legit site. The dome vaporizers are, from what i've read, a significantly lower quality than some of the other name brand vapes. Look into da buddha, vaporbrothers, or purple days, etc. I can't imagine a vaporizer using more than a fraction of a watt of electricity, theres just not much to them.
