I noticed the bottom of my bary jane's stem is turning white. it kind of looks intimidating so I was wondering what this means.

Edit: It still has green, but it's turning whitish, like white lines are running up the stem. It also has small white bump-type things. I don't know if this is normal or not, or a sign something bad is creeping up my plant's stem.

It could be just because this is the base and it's the strongest, because it's rock solid like a tree twig.
But I don't want it to be something dangerous.
