havent seen one of these on here in the time that i have been reading on here. please let me know what you all think of this plant. heres the history of it to date.

ok so my buddy just threw some bagseed into a pot and is letting them sprout just for the hell of it and well out of at least 50 plants we see this little one. every node so far including the seed leaves have been in 3s rather than in pairs.the first pics are from the night before when it was still in the pot with all the other seedlings.

last night we made a run to walmart and got some MG soil (i know i know but its only temp) for an emergency transplant. was able to get the plant into a big cup w/o tearing any of the roots. it drooped for that night but we put a small cfl on it the next morning and let it get hit by the morning sun and it perked right back up and even grew another node set which is pictured in the last of the pics.

we are hoping this continues this way as it will be great for the ScrOG grow that i am wanting to do withing a month or 2. if it is a male i am going to grow it out and harvest the pollen so i can keep the 3 node genes. i will then use that to polinate a good female one day.

if it is a female plant i am going to grow it out and clone it to keep it going. then i want to get a male of a good strain to cross it with since it is only bagseed.

i have now brought the plant to my house and placed it in my mini fridge as we just harvested the test grow. i am using 3x26w 6500k cfls with 1x26w 2700k cfl.

the plan is to just keep it alive to see what it can do and possibly keep the genetics if the plant doesnt grow out of it.

pretty sweet. i've never seen a plant like that.... must be like finding a four leaf clover.

maybe if you top it, it will start branching even more crazy-like

If it was whorled phylotaxy..I would have to inform ya that in all probabality you,ve got a boy ( as it seems to only show in males)...but it being a true "mutant" and polypliodal, who knows.


there was some debate about polyploids producing more bud... unfortunaly it was determined that the node spacing is the same regardless of wether it has 2 nodes or three...and no yield boost was found...bummer.

but none the less they can be fun to grow.

interesting reads. thanks for the info. i just want to see what happens. i would like for it to be female but i dont know. but either way im going to try and breed it into a better strain. and if it doesnt help the harvest at least it will look cool lol.

ohh topping will be quite a while away. im so excited about this plant right now :D:D

I would not top it, it can cause it to revert to normal growth. These are most common in Thai strains or strains with Thai lineages.

the only time that i would top would be when the plant has filled the screen enough in my scrog grow. but good advice. ill decide that when i get there. but if female im wantin to keep it as a mother

it seems to be taking rather well to the box with the lights. i am still having issues with heat as the room that the box is in doesnt get ac...... hoping it will hang in there till i move in a month or so. i may move the fridge into my room till then if i have to.

I got one of these in a pack of LR#2 seeds a few months back. Nice Find though.

By breeding it you can see if it is indeed a growth abnormality or a mutation in the dna. If the dna mutated (the 3 leaves are passed on to its offsprings) then that plant is fuckin valuable.

IVE NEVER SEEN ONE START WITH A TRIO SET OF LEAFS. PRETTY COOL. HERE IS A CLONE THAT HAS 3 ARMS AT EACH NODE. THESE WERE CLONES THAT HAVE BEEN TOPPED. I HAVE 3 OF THEM THAT ARE GOING TO GO TO 12/12 IN A FEW DAYS THEY WILL HAVE 6 MAIN COLAS.

That's fuckin wicked!! wish i can come across that strain maybe it'll turn out to be potent as fuck keep me updated i wana c wat that bitch is gonna look like during Vegg. an flowerin...

chop it. it would just be more work at harvest with no extra bud and thats if it even is a girl.

sorry polyploidy doesn't pass on. and it will not allow for more bud production, so has no extra value if stabalized beside fleecing new growers at seed buying time.

thanks for all the input guys. i dont care if i get more bud or not, and if it doesnt pass on oh well. i just think its a cool find so im going to see what the full grown plant looks like. i will clone it to see if its genetic or not but im not holding my breath

going to post some new pics in a few min. its really perking up. since it stretched so much as a seedling i buried a little of the stem up to about the seed leaves so it will be able to support itself. it should just start rooting where it was buried. at least thats what im hoping for. i see no reason why it wouldnt.

it should. if there is any doubt throw 10 drops superthrive in a gallon of water and feed it some of that.

I had one of those and so has a few other ppl. it will grow out nicely as long as you take care of it you may run into to a male every one that i know that says they have one it turns into to a male mine did but hey you might have some luck keep it going. Good luck

im not too worried about if it roots or not. it already has a good root system. and i dont have any good nutes or anything like that yet. i wasnt planning on having another plant for a month or 2 as i will be moving soon but oh well. im just hoping that the MG soil does ok till i can get some other stuff from a nursery or hyro store.

-edit oh btw i had to take out one of the 6500k bulbs. too much heat in the box for the room that it is in. i dont remember if i said that or not but yea the temp are being a prob. another reason i cant wait to move.

- edit again. ok took a look at it this morning and its really taking off. here is one pic i just took. i can already see a new node with 3 leaves on it since last nights update. and in the mean time i am testing my lung capacity with my newest addition to my bong collection.....
