I have Rooting hormone, and rockwool cubes and I'd like to be able to clone this plant of mine when it gets a bit more mature. The plant is planted in the ground, not in a pot. Has anyone ever cloned a plant outside in the ground? If this is even possible a step by step analysis would be greatly appreciated.
dont matter where your growing. as soon as a plant shows sex you can clone it . it takes skill though. my first attempt failed. i used powder rooting hormone. dipped a branch that was cut at a angle inside the hormone. placed it inside a solo cup with starter soil. cut the fan leaves a little. and sprayed the plant every day with a mister. two weeks went by. the plant turned somewhat brown on most leaves. i took it out and NO ROOTS. so i gave up on cloning all together.
No reason why you can´t TAKE clones from a plant growing in the ground. But I would put them under a CFL indoors for rooting. Seedlings can take full sun from day one - but I find the sun is too fierce for clones.
yea i think the sun made my clones not give root. cuz its hella hot in cali. right now its 102 degreez
I cut a limb off . dipped it in gel . then planted in a 4 inch pot. Set the pot in a bowl with 3/4 inch of water in it. That was mid July. I got 1 1/2 ounce from that cutting. no lights ,just set it in the sun ,it will root. don't forget the bowl with water in it till it roots. about 2 weeks.
