What is the best fertilizer to use for growing outdoors? I live in central florida if that is a factor.
Go Organic. Organic fertilizers make the bud taste so much better, i suggest buying Fish emulsion, or making your own. bone meal is my all time favorite. as long as you got REALLY GOOD SOIL. you dont need to trip too much about ferts. my soil has everything my plant needs already. all i gotta do is water them with water. but i add bone meal to give it a kick and make it more medical if you know what i mean
20-20-20.......water feed. Second I would have to say heavy harvest, just make sure to allow along time in between flushing......or you will have sparkly buds when smoked....LOL. More important than nutz is PH tho, remember kids to ph your soil or it doesn't matter what you put in that soil.........you could fertilize your soil with superman shit and it wouldn't matter ..... if you don't understand, with a high ph or low ph your plant or plants root system is locked up and they can't absorb anything.......... LIMESTONE, is one of the best products for correcting this issue, and its next to impossible to overfertize (thats if the acidity in the soil is high, which it always is).......trust me with the right ph you don't even need nutz......oh natural......
Go to walmart, Lawn and Gardening and buy Osmocote. It's in a pink bottle. You put it on your plants one time and it feeds it for 3 months. It had a slow release coating on it that only feeds you plants when it rains or you water them. It's the shit. Then when your plants start buddig buy the Expert Flower food. and work it in your dirt every 2-3 weeks while it's budding. It will make your plants look like they buds are going to bust. I have recently been using a fertilier called biogreen witch helps with germination and maintaining a healthy plant through out the growing season I have used a number of ferts this seem to work best for out door growing
Osmokote is good and I have used it for several grows. I have recently changed to organic fertilizers from Espoma. Plant-Tone and Tomato-Tone are the two I used last grow and what I will use this season.
Fox Farms Grow Big has a couple of organic components but organic it's not: Derived from: Ammonium Sulfate, Ammonium Phosphate, Urea, Blood Meal, Potassium Nitrate, Potassium Sulfate, Earthworm Castings, Norwegian Kelp, iron EDTA, zinc EDTA, manganese EDTA, copper EDTA, chelating agent, Disodium Ethylenediamine Tetra Acetate (EDTA), sodium borate, and sodium molybdate. Big difference between 'organic based' and organic. Gotta love the advertising copywriters sense of humor.
Nit picking? There are new growers in the thread seeking advice on fertilizers. There's a world of bud taste difference between outdoor grow organic and chemical content fertilizers.
Disagree. I never measure pH, mix plenty of solid nutes in my soil and give plenty of liquid nutes, though. Proof of the pudding ? See my grow journal.
I can't disagree with that. Some of the finest weed I've smoked comes from old-time organic outdoor dirt growers who follow just the fundamentals of proper soil prep and supplementary liquid feeding for veg and flower timing. These are weeds, not roses, and imo more bud quality is ruined by messing with mother nature than anything else.
the reason i am going with biogreen is it does not smell like fish an it is an organic based fert. the results seem to be the same as other organics...you can find it online at biogreen.com:
i use mirical grow idk if its a fertalizer but it helps them grow faster my ggrows bigger everyday.....
I'll concider a type of figh emulsion for next years grow, thanx alot Fortys and Blunts I was wondering if im mixing bone meal in to my spot for just one plant how much do i use? And is blood meal used for flowering? My plant shows that its a female no nugs yet about a foot and a half tall I want it to grow as big as possible before flowering what do you suggest?
Again, if you have the option, I'd suggest Plant-Tone (5-3-3 for veg and Tomato-Tone (3-4-6) for flower. These are blends of Feather Meal, Pasteurized Poultry Manure, Cocoa Meal, Bone Meal, Alfalfa Meal, Greensand, Humates, Sulfate of Potash, and Sulfate of Potash Magnesia along with Colony Forming Units of 15 different bacterium. They have it in the garden center at Home Depot here in S. Florida. I think Espoma.com may do mail-order, but they are 4 lb. bags...not sure how much shipping would be.
