After reading about it here, I recently picked up some bee line hemp to give it a try.

The consensus seems to be that the best way to use it is to wrap it around the lighter. However, I can't figure out how to use it once that's done. If I leave the tip of the bee line in the lighter when I light the lighter, it lights the line in the middle and the tip breaks off. It works fine if I use one hand for the lighter and the other hand for the bee line, but then I have no free hand for my piece.

I feel like there must be a better way, but I haven't been able to find one.
So how do you guys use it?

To me.... beeline is analogous to some of the absurd positions in the Kama Sutra; Way too much work for very little gain. Then again, I've never used Beeline, so I can't really say much.

Pull out a decent string of it from the package it came in then light it and light your herb. The flame won't be that small.

If you have a lot of air flow hold the flame away from the bud and draw the flame to your herb slowly.

Make sure to hold the string horizontally so that it burns slower. I wrap it around my lighter too. I usually light it using two hands(holding the beeline above the lighter), and then get it positioned in one hand and pick up the piece with the other. It's easy with a bong though.
It might feel like a balancing act at first, but after doing it a lot it will come naturally.

ah ok, I've been trying to do it with only one hand, so that's probably my problem

Yea, I mean you would think with just a lighter you could use it like a lighter, but the 2 extra seconds of effort won't look cool but it gets the job done. And make sure it's wrapped up tightly or the string will be a pain in the ass to have to roll up all the time.

Way to much work?

I've seen this posted before too, people asking how exactly people use them....

It's a long piece of string. You light one end of the string, then use that flame to light your herb with, never seemed like a puzzle of epicness to me.

I pull out the amount of string I want to use, light the end using both hands, then position the lit end over the weed and pull.

Well, I can imagine the string getting extremely shitty and dirty, and mussing up your pockets with waxy substance. Do they burn any cooler than a butane lighter? Another analogy for me, would be using your fingers to put your food on your fork. It's ''positioned''(tastes) better on the fork for your mouth to remove it, but you get your fingers dirty, and if you're using your fingers in the first place might as well skip the fork altogether.

Hm, I see what your saying. But the wax never really sticks to anything in your pockets, or gets too dirty. It doesn't burn cooler, its still an open flame, however no butane gets into your weed and thus inside you. This affects the taste greatly. I'm not sure about the other stuff, but overall it IS much better for you than a regular butane lighter.

If your still not sold on them, a pack costs 2 bucks to try out, and maujithings always throws in an extra, so it's relatively cheap just to give em a try.

Yeah, I can completely feel you about the taste part, I won't deny that I'm sure it makes a huge difference there. I come from northern Wisconsin where you pay like $35-50 for an eight of basically low mids for anywhere else. I've smoked so much shit weed in my life, that for slightly more convenience I'd rather use a lighter and have the taste degrade a little bit. I will, and do use a soldering iron with my bong though, as you get a better taste AND you're saving some THC from the butane's high temperature.

I too just recently picked up some bee line and so far am loving the more pure taste that I get when smoking. I have only used it a few times but have found that holding it horizontally over your bowl is the best way to light your weed.

i just keep it in that little fold shit it came with.....just unwind a little bit, light it, aaaand smoke.....easy peasy lemon squeeze.......try unwrapping a little more (about an inch and a half) from the lighter, then light it.

yes.

and the beeline flame emits the same light spectrum as the sun so that helps..

and its worth the effort, after months of beeline if I toke with a normal lighter my throat gets to me.

i have a spool and i just leave a piece of beeline hanging 2-3 inches off the spool and use that. i prefer that to the lighter method. only use lighters wrapped in beeline when i'm on the go

i have had my spool of beeline for about 2 weeks now
the problem i have with wrapping the beeline around a lighter is that i think the beeline will get dirty and i'll be burning all the dirt from my hands
rofl

i just cut maybe 3-4 inch strips
only the tip that wou hold it from gets dirty
i use about one 3-4in. strip a day if i'm not smoking socially

Nothing really sticks to the wax, plus any 'dirt on your hands would be burned off anyway, extreme heat or cold gets rid of bacteria anyway, so no worry. DOnt you waste a lot when you cut strips because you cant use it down to the end? I just keep it on one line on my lighter. Besides do you liek never wash you hands? especially with the SWINE FLU O M G haha just playing on the swine but really

dude, everything you have said has been totally wrong. calling beeline stupid, esp if you have never used it, just makes you sound like an idiot with nothing else to do. and your kama sutra analogy is just fucking dumb.

this analogy may even be dummer, as hard as that is to believe. it does not get shitty and dirty at all. this is what i say to all the people like you: there are a million threads on GC and you pick one of the few that you are in NO WAY educated enough to talk in. stop hating.
