I have a 3-5 page paper due tomorrow and I have a serious writers block right now. I was wondering if you guys could help me out and give me some ideas on what to write about. Heres the question..... Write an essay describing the changing role of public opinion in American democracy.
i am not going to help you because that is the easist topic for an essay, espeically since all of the stuff thats going on now. im guessing you do not watch the news or reading up on current events. you can quickly find info if you do some research, which you have not clearly done. and 3-5pages? thats fucking easy. can finish that paper in an hour.
Come on man help a brother out, I do read current events I just don't get how to put it on paper. My main idea involves how the publics opinion has such a radical change on who the president is. Like how after George Bush made everyone hate republicans everyone picked a black democrat just because they hated George Bush.
gay marraige abortion low politician approval ratings new politics- death of reaganomics stuff like that...
I'm trying I just don't get what he means by the way it's role is changing. Hasn't public opinion always mattered?
well, is the change positive or negative? public opinion matters, but most of the time its disregarded.
I just gave you an event where public opinion changed state constitutional law. That's HUGE. How often does that happen?
So I can basically write how public opinion has become much more powerful then it once was and can influence the modification of laws.
wow, your smart. you can add more to it to make it a strogner argument, but i'll let you do the research.
Thanks everyone for the help I think I will be much better off now, but suggestions and other help couldn't hurt.
Talk about the Bush Administration and how public opinion didn't play a role at all when it came to the Iraq War. Then talk about how the Obama administration is using public opinion to pass bills in the Senate. Take the stimulus bill for example. Obama made public opinion a point in his argument of why the bill needed to be passed. Look at Arlen Specter, he switched parties because Republican public opinion in Pennsylvania wouldn't allow him to get passed the GOP primaries. There are some starters for you and there are plenty more examples out there.
