Using Schultz mix outdoors?

Discussion in 'Growing Marijuana Outdoors' started by cowofsteel, Apr 23, 2004.

  1. I plan on planting all my babies outdoors around June, and I really want to make this grow worth while because I actually got somthing besides bag seed (thanks to a friend at the city :D )... and the first question I have of many is should I mix the dirt I'm using with some potting mix such as Schultz Moisture Plus?

This has ferts in it but very little, i think it says 008-012-008 on the bag. and this is the description it gives: This is a rich organic Mix that includes Sphagnum peat moss, perlite, water holding crystals and a time released plant food.

I'm not really sure what I'm looking for exactly, so I need some help on this one, as a lot and lot of reading really hasn't cleared it up for me.

    Thanks!

Also, since I plan on growing them indoors for a few weeks, what should I plant them in? I have a lot of Jiffy Mix, that moisture stuff I was talking about, and some regular schultz potting soil around the house, but I can go out and buy stuff if need be

  2. does it say outdoors on the bag? cause if it does i'd think its ok... im not sure though, ive never tried...

  3. well crap, I just noticed it says "great for all containers & hanging plants" so I guess that means not...

does anyone have anything they use? I think what I'm really looking for is something without ferts so I can add them later (plan on using regular shultz 20-20-20 for veg. and super bloom for flowering), so I was now thinking maybe something just like Jiffy Mix and mix in some water absorbing cyrstals in it??

Has anyone heard of sunshine #4 soil? I've heard some good things about it on OG

lol, sorry for all the questions and thanks for the help HJ
