so we all love those tasty crystals at the bottom of the grinder, heres some good ways to get some nice fat piles of that powdered one love 1)put a coin in the weed chamber of the grinder, definately makes alot of kief come off, a dime seems to work good for me 2)break up smaller amounts of weed in the grinder, too much weed and it seems like not enough kief comes off for the amount 3)how do u know when to stop shakin? take the catcher off and shake the grinder over a surface to where u can see the kief coming out, if alot is still coming out put the catcher back on and collect more kief 4)i kno no1 likes weed thats too dry, but the crystals come off alot easier with dryer weed, if ur stuff is really moist, you mite wanna leave the bag open an hour or so before grinding it up 5)you can always work on your grinder shaking technique, i do really short fast violent shakes, to loosen the crystals, then knock against my palm to get the crystals to drop into the catcher 6)if u love kief like me putting the weed thru the grinder more than once can get a little additional kief ne1 else got any lil tricks to get more kief?
There are only a million of these made. But... while I have found that putting a nickel in your grinder and shaking it does produce a lot more kif, I believe that there is a noticeable difference in how high you get while smoking all that bud. When you shake for kif you are losing THC that would be on your buds. My personal opinion. I did enjoy all the kif bowls that I had though. Bowls of KIF>Bud and Kif>Bud
Your personal opinion, is actually a fact. The more Kif in your Kif compartment, the less of it there is on your bud, the less THC you are taking in while smoking it- thus you get less high
I meant that in my opinion, the KIF that you take off the bud from shaking makes a noticeable difference in your high. Some people say it does not, I feel that it does.
I actually never use grinders, its soo much more satisfying to break the bud up by hand, and you can inspect it as you go. I use latex gloves to keep the keif from sticking to my fingers, and break it up on a little tray thats made for cocaine, so the keif doesn't get stuck in the cracks or anything.
i feel like this too. that's why i'm now looking for a 2-piece grinder so i can enjoy 100% of my buds potency (or closer to 100%)
yea i always wondered if it made a noticeable difference to smoke it without collecting the kief, i never noticed, IMO the kief is more valuable by itself than in the weed
you still can lol thats why you can grind the weed, extract kief, pack a bowl then reapply kief on top!
I never understood this concept. Why would you take the weed with kief on it, grind the kief off, and then put the kief right back on the weed and smoke it? Why don't you just skip the whole middle process and just smoke the weed?
heres THE best way. grind up lots of bud. take a half dolla and put it in the middle. put the grinder in the FREEZER for EIGHT 8 (8) --8-- minutes. -use a timer please when you take it out, shake like a mother fucker. OPTIONAL- after taking it out of the freezer, put it on a hard top surface. take a hammer and start turning the grinder around in 360. as you turning it around, tap the top with the hammer. try to shake the grinder as you tap as well. ofcourse the optional part may bring scratches, but if your grinder is already fucked up, it wont really matter for some more paint to be scratched off.. at this point, the bud will still be smokable, but obviously wont get you as high as it would have if still normal bud form. but the production of kief in the freezer trick without the optional step is very good. shitloads of kief man. oh yeah and if you want to use the kief, pack a bowl of normal non-grinded bud, then put the kief on. it will be way better. use the left overs after shaking for a fat personal bowl some time. it will FUCK you up if you pack fat just for a domer bowl
also clean ur kief screen every once nd a while to un clog it. i love kief. having a kief catcher is like having a savings acount you put some in it everytime you get paid you save it for a later date/ emergancy or maybe you got a lot saved up nd just want to burn sum.
All the things you said are basically all the techniques my friend does, ha. Coins, shaking, knocking the grinder on a table... crazy stuff.
Hell yeah. I love buying two dubs, and using my grinder. Its so much fun to open up the kief slot and to see all this kief saved up. Brings a smile to my face. Haha, yeah I do the same thing.
I have a space case and i just keep my keif pick in the middle part but would you guys say to swap it out for a dime or something? But i too love grinding my bud just so i can open that bottom compartment and get a huge smile definitely the best.
I usually leave my grinder and stuff in a cabinet in the garage. Since the garage gets cold often and especially at night, my grinder gets really cold thus making all the trichomes more fragile, which makes it easier for them to fall into the compartment. I've noticed that my grinder yields a lot more kief when I leave it sit there for awhile in the cold.
