  1. great updates! I love to see it coming along! keep it up.

  2. The room is roughly 11'x20'. It's an entire 1 car garage bay converted into an office that is no longer your typical office..lmao. ;)

Thanks for the comments Mandoluce..It's been fun documenting progress everyday :)

  3. I have a smaller space... but heres how I did it... no smell at all out of room and very minimal in it.

I have a cheap 6" inline fan hooked up to a small filter in my tent (4x4x7) to prescrub the air. There is no ducting on it, only about 1 ft to connect the two together, and dumps air into larger room. My room is about 10x9x8 which I have a larger filter hooked up to a vortex 6" fan that scrubs all the air , cools my light and vented outside... no smell at all.

Here's a link to my thread when I was figuring out what/how to do it

I got my ventilation gear at plantlightinghydroponics.com ... if ya got any questions let me know.

  4. just created my journal, check it out if you get the chance!

  5. Well...Sorry for no updates over the weekend, I took the boat out and went camping/fishing. First outing of the season! The weather was awesome and the lake is only 12 miles from my house, so I was able to come back and water, etc.

Here's the latest pics, This was the start of the 14th day of flowering. Things are looking good. I also picked up a new tent (4x4x7'6") from the local hydro shop for my clones and mothers. Just the 30 clones in there right now, those will be getting potted tonight when I get home from work, roots are busting out of the rockwool ;). 100% rooting on the three strains as well!

I am changing soils as well this time, I was using FF Ocean Forrest blended with my own organic soil/compost that I make on my farm. I was talking to the hydro guy at the shop and he was telling me that Ocean Forrest is primarily for outdoor use (Fox Farms confirms this). So, now I'm switching to a blend fo Fox Farms OF and Roots Organics. I'll let ya know how that works. fuckin soil is expensive! LOL

  6. Hey Jbyrd!

Plants are looking good! Starting to see the beginning of some buds! :hello: The weather was awesome here too, I spent all weekend rototilling my garden so I can't blame ya for not updating, I gotta do that as well today lol. What kind of temps does your room run at? Just curious because I had some issues cloning but it was because it was too cold, but yours look healthy and ready to grow! I'm interested to know about the soil-switch, did he say why the Ocean Forest is primarily for outdoor use, and how that would affect using it indoors? Soil is expensive alright, and there is always more to spend on if I had the cash . Hell If I had more cash I would spend ALL of the extra $ on supplies lol. Well I'm off to do chores and take some pics, will check back later.

  7. The room is running around 76 - 80 degrees. Last night it actually got kinda cool in there. I went in this morning before work and the temp was 68 so I adjusted my A/C and fans a bit. I had just started running the A/C as our temps in the area kicked up to 100 this weekend and I was paranoid about how the room would be. Looks like it handled it fine, almost too good :).

What I was told is that OF alone is not good for indoor usage. It does nto let enough air in to the roots. Blending it with another good soil is OK though. I picked up the Roots Organics and blended it with the rest of my OF to see how it goes. It's a coco blend, but not pure coco so I think you'll not have the hassles of using coco.

Hydrofarm - Roots Organics ROD Roots Organics Soil. 1.5 Cubic Feet that's the stuff I got.

Yeah, I'm was drooling over a few items in the store yesterday. I ended up with the tent, some grow bags to transplant the clones into and soil. The only real issues I have left are ventilation. I am trying to figure out how I want to handle odor control still without breaking the bank and popping big holes through every freakin wall. ;) I've got about a week before it starts getting really stinky..lol.

  8. What are your ideas on what to do? Buying a filter would be a quick-fix but that goes back to breaking the bank issues lol.

  9. Hey jbyrd, thanks for stopping by my journal and happy 4/20. It looks like you have a pretty pro setup going man. I like it.:hello:
I noticed a couple posts ago that you were looking for odor advice. I strongly suggest doing some sort of a carbon scrubber. Get on the odor control before you actually need it.

I personally did a do it yourself scrubber for my room. Detailed instructions should be on the first or second page of my journal.

Well, it looks like you have everything under control.

  10. Start of Day 15 of flowering for my babies! They look better and better everyday, buds are growing fast and getting hairy! Lots of little crystals are starting to form on the small leaves around the bud sites. Oh yeah! Come on, I wanna smoke ya!!! LOL

I've also included pics of day 1 in soil for my next grow. These are the same strains: ECSD, Purple Kush and Cherry AK-47. These we're clones I took from the first grow and they've rooted nicely, there are two that didn't like the transplant, not sure if they'll come back or not. They had good root structure, they just aren't happy happy...

  11. The "old" ladies are looking good.... and already for the next round... nice job

  12. Thanks! I'm pretty excited about the changes in there. I added 9 more freshly potted clones to the tent as well for a total of 30 now for the next grow. From what I've been learning and reading if I keep all 30 on a 2 - 3 week veg cycle they should stay small enough to go in to 3gal containers and flower as soon as my big girls are done under my 1200watts of HPS (was thinking I could max at 36 plants on that cycle). I think this round is pushing it though as I'm 4 weeks off from harvest roughly. So I'm hoping that with some pruning that I can keep the new ones compact enough to stay in 3gal pots. I'm just a little worried about the root structure out growin the pots with a month of veg. We'll see! I have a friend that I could always dump a couple off on for outdoor grows if I have to many.

  13. Day 16 flowering pics. Lot's of crystals starting to appear and since I don't have a good macro setting on my camera I tried something new! :) I took a couple of pics through a magnifying glass to see how they'd turn out. I think it worked ok, although I don't think I'll do it again! LOL :)

Day 19 of flowering - Things seem to be moving along nicely!

I'm installing a 12 inch fan tonight with a big fat carbon filter and dumping scrubbed air up in the attic. The attic covers over 750 sqft and I have fans in my dormers to help pull the hot air and moisture out of the house completely. I'm also going to be installing some oscillating fans to help keep the heat down around the plants and give my A/C some rest and a 240 outlet this weekend in the room to switch my ballast off 120 and cut the amp usage. Ton's of work to do, but it's all fun and the end result will be a tight operation.

The next round of plants are looking great and I've got some more Cherry AK clones to move in to soil tonight which will be added to the next grow.

I'm really liking the new tent I picked up and I'm thinking about picking up two more. One for mothers and clones and two for flowering. It would make my life a TON easier that way. As you can see from my picks, I have a make shift panda film room for flowering and it's not perfectly light tight. The rest of the room is, but I still can't go in there and work mothers or clones when I'm on night cycle. Optimally I'd like to be able to get in there whenever the fuck I want. LOL. A friend is hooking me up with a 50Gal reseviour as well. I'm thinking of running drip to all the plants to ease watering as well. We'll see about that, I kind of like spending the time out there expelling my C02. :p

Here's ur porn! Porn includes the big girls, little girls and what I'm smoking while I'm working on them. Romulan was the flavor of the night ;) Oh yeah...the tops that I am holding...first one is the ECSD second is Cherry AK and third is the Purple Kush.

  17. Doood, my bong loveeesss your porn. I can imagine the stank comin off those girlies. Why would you want to scrub that away?? It's cali man, we legal :D I know I know, there is still "security" risk but I love the smell of the plant...

  18. Day 20 of flowering -

Lots of yum forming :) We're finally starting to figure out good settings on the camera too~!

    P4240077.jpg

Picked up a new 4' 8bulb T5 for the veg/clone tent yesterday as well. It should kick those babies up a notch!

    P4240002.jpg

Also installed the new 6 inch vortex fan and carbon filter last night. Was a busy, late night. I was fortunate to have a recessed ceiling light in the grow area so I crawled up in the attic and took that bitch out, no cutting my ceiling up for ventilation! ;)

I'm going to install a 12 inch vortex at one of the windows for fresh air intake as well. Most likely this will happen next week.

    P4240042.jpg

Things are getting more and more under control, after this flower cycle some big changes are coming. I'm expanding the current grow room to double it's size and adding 2 more 600 HPS and a 400 HPS for a total of 2800 watts in the flower room. Should be wiring up the 240 sometime in the next two or three weeks. I also picked up a 55gal reservoir and will be considering a drip system to water as the expansion will make hand watering a pain in the ass. Anyhow, enough rambling for now...off to enjoy my saturday!

    Peace out!
