So, i have just finished a 30 minute long discussion/arguement with my mother over why i do not believe, nor do i waste my time on a god or jesus. please take a minute and skim thru this interesting articles that highlights similarities between Jesus (the fag) and Horus (an egyptian god) http://www.religioustolerance.org/chr_jcpa5b.htm She said the similarities didnt matter and that Jesus' life was all true including his resurecction i said that would make him a zombie, and if an arab zombie with long gross hair came at me, id crucify him myself at which point, she said that im going to hell, and i said "fuck that, ill see you there." please dont say anything like "Dont disrespect god!" unless u read the horus vs jesus thing. thanks i just needed to vent
u dont really understand my situation some background: my mom has tried to FORCE catholic beliefs on me since i was very young my dad doesnt care, but doesnt oppose this she has even grounded me for telling my grandmother that she was ignorant for saying "Those fags shudnt get married, they are all going to hell" (my mom doesnt oppose gay rights, but my grandmother does) soo, my situations kinda rough and this is the first time ive ever backlashed its not like we hate eachother my mom and i usually have a pretty healthy relationship, but when it comes to religion, we are VERY different and yes the "see you in hell" comment was mean, and i apologized as did she

Not believing in a religion is one thing. Taking that religion and shitting on it by calling Jesus a fag is another. Have some respect man, even if you don't believe it doesn't mean you need to be a little asshole about it. I don't believe that Jesus was the son of God either but you will never catch me talking about another religion that way, and it's the same way for most of the people I know that have similar beliefs. As for you fighting with your mom about it, I don't know what your relationship is like or what your deal is, but respecting your parents is important and a simple "I don't believe that mom and I'd prefer not to talk about it." and then just ignoring whatever else she says on the matter would have been a better option. As for your grandma, don't sweat it. She is probably just old and that's how she was raised, so those viewpoints are probably instilled in her. My grandma used to say all kinds of racist and anti-homosexual things.
