bong brands hierarchy

hey guys, so i was thinking of what tubes i want to have in my collection someday, so i put together a list of all the brands that i knew. then i sorted them and categorized them into preference. i ranked them mainly based on their quality, so this should be universal for most. but some of it is also based on personal preference. let me know what you guys think of it or if there are changes taht you would make to it

Roor/Lux
Toro
US Tubes/Honalee
Ehle

second tier-

Elevate/Everest

Should bump SG up to Tier 1. Definitely as good as Toro's, and I'd say better than Roor, Lux and Ehle. I suppose it could be a personal preference thing, but I'm not sure how.

SG would definately be in my first tier. and i would have illadelph higher, their business practices and thin bases notwithstanding

Illadelph glycerin coil with a inline ash catcher, hands down. How is that even a question. Toro tubes are def. a top choice.

I've got a 16" non-detachable coil tube that I love, but rarely use. When you're talking the $600+ or so to get one there are far better functioning options out there, in my opinion of course.

Personally I think ph(x) should be in the top level alongside the other champs. They are North American based and have been around for quite some time now and also they are mostly responsible for the design of the peculator chambers that we see used in many of the bongs out today. Just a thought:smoking:

They designed the dome perc, which has since been for the most part surpassed by the tree perc. A PHX dome has been surpassed by trees anyway. Has no business near the top IMO

word i feel where u guys are coming from. but i do think alot of that were close calls and alot of it was personal preference to me. that also includes my personal biases, etc. so this is by no means perfect. for example, ive never had good experiences with ph(x) or illadelph which is why i generally view them low. many of the other brands ive never tried before but only base things out of what i've heard other people say.

as for SG being in top tier, i dont doubt that at all. ive actually yet to try an SG, but every one ive seen was impressive and ive only heard good stuff about them. i have no prob with it in tier 1.

how does everyone feel about ELEVATE? they've been impressing me lately..

thats based off of consistency of nice pieces and all around craftsmenship and useability. otherwise illa and random heady pieces and phx would be there but speaking in terms of functionality and strength, those 4 brands up there get you the farthest.

no firsthand experience, checked them out for quite a bit at the shop today though. wasn't very impressed, some joints looked very thick while others looked rather thin. looked okay but nothing special to me

only reason i could see is that they don't really make a lot tubes. but KC's functionality is top notch

i agree with most of that.

my top tier would include sg, roor, toro, and kc. illadelph would most definitely go up to tier 2. at least. my illy is fantastic. prefer it over the roor any day.

edit:
the only thing that's better about the roor is the 23 hole diffuser. that's dank shit.

dude...i've got a straight 9mm blue label and the base is a good 7mm. just slightly thinner than the rest of the tube. the batch my headshop had before that one all had thinner bases, but all of the ones as of late have been nice and thick. they are inconsistant, so i agree to a degree. i have seen many with very sturdy bases though.
