Hey guys I am new to the forum as you see. I am tired of trying to find sum good ish for a decent price. Well I am here to learn how to do some lowryder growing. I will post a pic of what I would like to use and what I would like to make to do my growing. If you think I am goign the wrong way or have a better suggestion please feel free and help. Here is the pic of my stealth box I am going to follow. If you think its wrong could be better or you think I am going the wrong way, please liek i said help me!!! I was told to use these lights or get these lights Please let me know what you think. I have a few ideas and have been reading up on this. Just want to make sure I am correct and are doing the right thing. I know I need a ph meter and a pph meter, thermometer.... i just need a good source to get all and good quality companies to get stuff from. Also can you guys help me in a good seedbank for autoflowering and lowryders. thank you
Well cool man, welcome to growing! good luck! The grow box looks good to me.. I'd probably switch out that foil for some mylar but thats me. You might want to check this out for a good steath box odor neutralizer. I'm a soil grower so I dunno about the hydro stuff. Probably good! I know you do need that PPM & EC Meter, that can get pricey for a good one! Those bulbs are the correct spectrum and will probably work just fine. As for a good seedbank, check out this thread man. ~Experimentalist
my brother in law is a mason and he smokes. [not that kind of mason though lol] whats wrong with a mason smoking? they are normal people just like us.
looks well crafted, mate!!! good work! the only thing that looks like it's missing is proper ventilation. i see a PC fan positioned high in the case, i reckon thats your exhaust, but where is your intake? have fun with your lowriders!
I will have it in the front bottom I am guessing on level with the plants i guess... If i am correct. I am not sure. Let me know If this will yeild 2 lowryders or autoflowering plants.. I just wanna yeild to hold myself off. Please let me know if there are any flaws in the idea, or if there is better equipment, lighting and ventalation I should use.
yeah.... reckon that 2 lowriders will do just fine in that space. Like i said, it looks well built, and im sure that youll get something out of it. just remember to add the proper air circulation, and maybe in the future switch to other more powerful CFLs, 200W would be nice.
I agree. More wattage would be better. If possible, I would try to find a way to get a couple more small cfls in there. For two plants, I would say a minimum of 200 watts at any give time. The rule of thumb is 150 watts for first plant, 50 addition watts for every additional plant. But, for lowryder varieties, I would say you would be able to get by with less light cause they don't get as big so the light doesn't have to penetrate as much. BTW, I like that idea you got on the light. That sure would make lowering and raising it a snap! Good thinkin! +rep for the ingenuity!
' Thanks guys. I didnt build it yet. I am going to soon. Just trying to figure out where to get everything and waht companies to use. SO any direction and pointers will help thanx
Hey guys back from vacation. I am going to start building this thing. Can you guys let me know where to get the ph meter and pph meter. it would be great thanx
Check out this guy's thread... http://forum.grasscity.com/general-indoor-growing/340716-great-instruments-great-prices.html
Thank you very much on that. I also have a question. Do you think I should do a bubble bucket or do you think I should do soil?? And which is easier to watch??? or keep at a steady rate? And also which will yeild a better crop? and a higher quantity of crop?
well any kind of hydro will give you a much a bigger yield than soil. Quality is prolly the same IMO. Most ppl on here talk about superior quality smoke from hydro, but the soil growers say they'd take the pepsi challenge anyday with their soil grown. So in my eyes, you'll get quality either way if you do it right. On the other side though, if this is your first grow, I wouldn't jump right into hydro. Hydro is a lot more complicated and since you may not be all that familiar with growing, jumping right into hydro may be asking for problems.
ok so we go the soil route in this grow box. What do I need 1.lights 2. soil mixture 3. nutes and what is the " Best Most Used" 4. fans 5.when and how do I water the plant 6. when does she get nutes and how much 7. how much light does she get and when do I change bulbs Thanks for the help
start reading the stickies in different growing sections. There's a ton of good growing info in them...
well have been talking to a freind and he has been giving me a hand in this. I found my seedbank, and seeds I shall get. I have started to build the box and start buying the materials that I need. Let me know what light fixture I should get and If these lights will be good enough. I think one of these http://www.plantlightinghydroponics.com/bright-wing-cfl-grow-light-c-321_525_526.html should do the job. Correct me if I am wrong. As for soil I went for FoxFarm Ocean Mist http://www.foxfarmfertilizer.com/products_soils1.html If you think I should use something different Please let me know. Ph Meter http://cgi.ebay.com/pH-Meter-Digital-Aquarium-Pool-Spa-Water-Test_W0QQitemZ380096875574QQcmdZViewItemQQptZLH_DefaultDomain_0?hash=item380096875574&_trksid=p3286.c0.m14&_trkparms=72%3A1205|66%3A2|65%3A12|39%3A1|240%3A1318|301%3A0|293%3A1|294%3A50 As for Thermometer http://www.plantlightinghydroponics.com/oregon-scientific-water-resistant-thermometer-wprobe-p-1718.html Fans I will be running off a PC Power Supply. I have a Very nice selection. I am going to have 2 80MM fans for Exhaust, I am going to have 1 80MM fan on each side of case for Intake, and 2 more 120MM fans Inside the case Blowing on the plants, For Strength. Sounds good to me. Less wires, watts, and less plugging in. I am growing Lowryder and autoflowering dwarf plants, What is the Ideal pot/bucket size to use?? And what is the minimum? I am wondering because I am limited on a space. I had 2 2.8 liter pails and they did not fit. So I am a little worried on that part. Thanx again.
