I switched my CFL's out for a 400 watt HPS. here's my setup as of now...
Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated!
My temps are running at 90 degrees Ferenheit (33 Celcious)
The 3rd pic shows a sprout that has the seed hull attached still...Is this going to be a problem?

Looking good! The diesel ryder will flourish under that thing! 90F is on the high end though, its just on the verge of when plants will start showing stress due to heat. I'd try to get some more ventilation in there if that's possible. If not, consider making a cool tube for your hps.

The shell of the seed isnt really a biggie. Dont mess with it, nature has its own design. The seedling will outgrow the shell eventually.

Did you get fem seeds? What kind of nutrients are you planning on using? How big are your pots?

Not feminized seed..Just regular ol' lowryder Diesel from Attitude Seed Bank. So lets hope i get a couple fems...

As for nutrients..That my question. I am growing in organic Black Gold 0.5-0-0 So what do you think I should use and when should I start using it?

The Pots are 6" 1.0 Gallon pots.

Also I read in another thread that to increase humidity in the grow area hang a wet towel??? Has anyone ever tried this method?

I'm a hydro grower, but Ive heard good things about the fox farm line. Take a look at an online grow shop and see what they have available, then just do a search for those nutes looking through titles only. You can start once you have 3 or 4 leaf sets.

Why do you want to increase your humidity? What is it sitting at now?

So you have grown lowdiesel before? How much did you yield? I hear that LowDiesel doesnt branch and grows just 1 main bud but the high is worth it.

start the other 4 seeds if possible, ive seen bout 3 or 4 out of ten males on non fem lowryders anyone else notice the dramtic probability of males? neway, i dont think ur gonna want to do just 1 or 2 plants, you would possibly only get around 50 grams maybe 65, cant let the wattage go to waste. but ur situation may prohibit so just a personal thought:wave:

The other 4 seeds never germinated.... i did them the same way as the others, they just never popped (these seeds were alot smaller than the other 6). I have some more seeds on the way (G13 Poison Dwarf) :smoke: I was planing on rotating out the males and keeping a constant 9 plants goin at a time. Here's my baby's this morning... ( I love my new camera) The bigger 1 is starting to show some signs of flowering! :hello:

I currently have four Diesel Ryder's going, along with one G13 Powerplant freebie(yes it actually sprouted!) 250 watt MH, DWC method.

After about the third week you will notice the "compact"ness of the plant will soon change and some nice growth will begin.

Good Luck.

Attitude is the only place i have bought from so far. I have never been ripped off so I will continue useing them. I want to try some AK47 or some Auto Blueberry. maybe i could cross some white dwarf with some blueberry and call it Berry White...Oh yeah baby!

The main reason I chose the G13 Poison Dwarf was it was crossed with Northern Lights and the first plant i ever grew was northern lights. I grew it on my back porch next to some tomatoe plants. Here's a pick of it (I was so proud)
Notice the television in the background?

Just read all of Gizmos Lowryder grow thread..All 28 pages! Awsome looking plants. I wonder how well they will do under 400 watt HPS vs CFL's? I am really excited about these babies. The odor concerns me alittle though.

odor wont be a problem if you buy this item

http://cgi.ebay.com/...NEWLIST#GALLERY

its a stand alone carbon scrubber that is a little expensive but definately overkill, if your is worth it then invest. you dont need to place this on a duct, just set it in your growroom, it works fantastic i hear. i believe its made for a 15' x 15' room or somethin, so like i said overkill but cautious none the less...

dude, im glad you read gizmos thread, i feel like i directed you the right way for what your doing, and what ill be doing.

not sure about light question, 400 would work best i'd think, but you could have side lights with cfls, it would be good for your setup too. but if your gonna grow go ahead and get that first hps now as in investment, you'll grow again want to do a nonlowryder strain.

I already had the 400 watt HPS light. Bought it off ebay for 145.00 what a deal!
Bad news is after less than a week the ballast went out. I contacted the manufacturer and they are sending me another 1, however i had to pay for all the shipping charges. Oh well i guess you get what you paid for. Next time i highly recommend the remote ballast not the 1 that mounts on top of the reflector.

Yup bad news...Got up this morning and it was dark in my grow room. Had to pull out the old CFL setup i rigged for seedlings. Hope my babies will stay healthy till the new ballast arrives.

damn man that really sucks! Hope they don't get too stressed from the lack of light for that time being, but it should be alright. GL with the grow!
