Hi everyone I am growing hydro in an ebb and flow bucket sytem. I am in week 5 of flower with an ec of 2.5 but that's as high as it will get. I flood 4 times during the day and one through the night cycle. Just started noticing a little burn starting at the tips of some of the leaves and some have little more than just the tip. It doesn't seem really bad but I realized that it wasn't stoping and growth has slowed a bit. Yesturday and today I noticed that as the plants are drinking the ec is rising .1-.2 each day but I have been addind plain water to the res to drop it back down and it never did this before. This has lead me to beleive there is some type of nute lockout because it seems like they are drinking water but not the nutes, that's why the ec is rising. This is my first grow and with the reading and researching I have done the best solution seems to be flushing. My questions are....

    1. Tomorrow is my res change day, should I just let some reg PHed water run for a flush before I add my new batch of nutrs?

    2. My sytem floods 4 times a day for 15min each. When I flush with the reg PHed water how many flood cycles should I flush for before addind the new batch of nutes?
    Thanks guys

  2. ????? Sorry for being so impatient guys but I don't want this problem getting any worse. Plus tomorrow is a res change day and it would be perfect time to act on this problem. So bare with me if I bump this thread a few times to try to get a reply by tomorrow morning.

  3. Bump.........

  4. ?????????????

  5. Did the flush for a full day. Four flood cycles. Then started with the medium feeding program with fresh water. Still want opinions though????

  6. In my experience, when your ph starts to rise late in flowering, it's time to cut the nutrients down.

    What has your ph been?

  7. I have an autodoser that keeps ph at 5.8 at all times. Don't think you understood though. This thread is about flushing and treating nute burn. Please reread the two questions on the first post. Thank you and Merry Christmas!

  8. i grow in a bubble bucket and what i do to flush is simply expose the roots to ph balanced water and clearex for 1-2 hours as the bottle says to. i would imagine with an ebb and flow system it would be no different just measure how long your roots are exposed to the clearing solution.

  9. secretgarden08, you probably didn't notice, but this is a 3-year old thread. (We've all done it.)

Another Pink Floyd lover? I thought I was the only one left who remembered them.
I still listen to Dark Side of the Moon, Wish You Were Here and The Wall regularly. As well as my Led Zep etc.
So real rock isn't quite dead yet?

  10. thats quite funny i didnt even notice and would have to agree with what you said about real rock and roll, it is still alive and kicking.

  11. Time is irrelevant. I learned something from this three year old thread today.

  12. Absolutely Goober.

I learned so much from the boards before I started growing - especially from the older threads. Some of the same methods of years gone past still work today - sometimes even better.

And I learned about others' experiences with Advanced Nutrients on these boards, and that was really helpful when I finally make the decisoin to go with AN.

    good luck all
