First grow!! Bagseed, cfl, lst

Welcome to my first grow!!

Some of you may already know that i had a thread for my grow already, but i decided to make a new one since my old one was more troubleshooting, and not that good lol. SO here's the specs on my grow:

Soil - Fox Farm Ocean Forest

Lighting - 3 42w 2600 lumen soft white cfl, 1 23w daylight cfl, 1 60w soft white cfl

Temp - Between 70º and 80º

Humidity - Between 35% and 50%

Nutrients - Earth Juice Grow

Plan - Veg till around Jan 15-23, flower till around March 10-18, cure till Aril 20

I know its not the most exciting grow, but please take the time to check it out & throw some comments my way

I started germination the 11/7, planted the next week, and it sprouted on the 11/16. Currently i'm on day 29 since sprout. I started LST last week on 12/9. I also topped it a week before starting LST, and its looking pretty good now. Now i don't know if my plan will work that way, i'll have to see how big this plant gets by Jan 17 to decide what to do. Anyone think that this plan will work out this way? Considering how much my plant has grown in the last week, i think another month should be enough time to veg.

Also, i know that temperature isn't GREAT, but its the best i can get it at right now with what i'm workin with. I have a small fan at the top of the box blowin down at the plant, and its keepin the temp usually around 74º. I'm almost done with my new grow box, so i'll have room to put the fan inside the actual box so it will keep it cooler than it is now.

My grow started off slow because i was an idiot and ended up buying Miracle Grow Organic Choice POTTING MIX. Lol. So, it grew for a while, very slowly, and then when i had the chance i got FFOF & repotted. Since then, its been growin a lot faster and healthier. I used the nutes for the first time last time i watered it, which was 12/11 i believe. Technically i have 2 plants going, but this one is the one i'm focusing on the most, and the other one isn't as old as this one, so its not as big. So BEAR WITH ME! Lol this grow is finally starting to pick up some speed, and its getting better every day to me!

thanks man. Yeah its finally startin to grow better now. I think it didn't grow well before because of:

A: The soil

B: I started in a bigger pot

C: I only had one 42w bulb on it

D: I picked the plant up in the pot to put more soil underneath & broke some roots


I started one for my friend about the same time and his is bigger, and im guessing its cuz he has better root growth and a smaller pot. Plus the soil i started his off in had perlite in it at least - mine didnt till i got the FFOF.

No worries though, its lookin great IMO

LST is fun because you get to know the plants closely as you train them.

SO i made my new little grow box yesterday. I'm sure some people don't think a cardboard box is the best space, but hey it works. Plus i have more room for lights/fan/plant/etc now.

Anyways, i'm on day 30 since sprout today. New growth where i topped is lookin great, plant's color is lookin great, everything's going great! So ive heard that Sativa plants have more skinny pointy leaves and indica's have more fat leaves. Is my plant a sativa? Here's some new pictures. Check out the stem on this girl!

quick update

Day 31
oooooh its startin to get a smell to it!

i thought about tieing down the 2 new tops last night, but i'm gonna wait a few more days to give it a little more growth. Fed it last night, it loves those nutrients! Still only giving it about 3 mL of nutes per gallon. I'm afraid to step up to 4 or 5 mL lol.

Anyone else think waiting till, say January 17th to start flowering is my best bet?

i just wanted to post this in hope that someone might reply and help me out.

i'm wonderin if i need to get more light, or if i should do anything different?? I have my plant under at least 5000 lumens. i think its 86w total or somethin.

how the lights are on my plant currently is shown in the picture above. same concept, but the plant grew more so i moved them a little

my plant is definately smaller than it should be at this point. I just need to know if getting 2 more lights is completely necessary of if i'll be okay with the 2 i have right now

I don't know man, she looks good to me.

I'm about to start the same grow for my first soon, with the cfl's and what not.

i woke up to find one of the lights fell into my plant :mad: now its got some burn spots...


*sigh* oh well. Nothing serious i guess. I ordered a new camera and hopefully it will be here today!!! I'll be able to have better pictures finally lol.

I think if you could get another bulb on her she would love you for it. Is that a possibility? When you start to flower I think she'll want more light.

thanks for stoppin by man Yeah i get off early today (in 2 hours!!!!) so i'm gonna check it out when i get home. I'm thinkin about gettin another bulb, or just bigger bulbs, i'm not sure yet. i might get another socket splitter & put it in my other light socket...hmmm.......lol anyways yeah im gonna hopefully get another/more light within a week or so. I fucking love growing lol

sucks waking up to find a cfl bulb balls deep in the side of your plant :mad: it'll be fine though. Plants still lookin good, i'll probaby feed her tonight. At the rate she's been growing, idk if i'll be able to go all the way till Jan 17th with the veg. But we'll see where im at in 2 weeks.

Anyways, i got my new camera yesterday, so i can get much better pictures from now on. First and second picture is of the cfl burn and third is after i cut off some of the burnt leaves/parts. First picture is with flash, second picture no flash.

Hey thanks for checkin the grow out man! Where'd you go to high school?

i got three 42w soft whites and two 23w daylights on it right now. I just added the daylights over the weekend.

Day 37

oooh i can't wait to start flowering this bitch!

Over the weekend, i woke up to find one of the bulbs sitting on the plant AGAIN

*sigh* but its okay. Its still growin strong, right? Lol. I upped the nutes in the water to 1/2 tbsp per gallon over the weekend, too. I'm slowly buildin up the nutes real slow cuz i don't wanna fuck up and over feed it. I'm kinda stuck on what to do next with LST lol. I kinda did it wrong and right at the same time. Somehow. I think i might have to start flowering within the next week or 2 though, cuz its getting bigger almost every day.

here's a picture from yesterday (Day 36). You can see on the right where the bulb fell on the top of the plant. Should i trim off the burnt parts or just let it be?

also threw in a picture of some alright greens we've been smokin on the past couple days. Its not great, but hey, its gets you high


I can usually get some pretty good bud (got snowcap & master kush last week) but this stuff was cheap and convenient.

OUCH!! Thats a terrible thing to wake up to! I had to smoke a bowl just to recover from seeing that! It looks like it will recover. MJ is a weed after all it just grows and grows..Good idea on the exra lights the Lady will love you for it.

Use the paperclip icon to attach your pics, just browse for the one you want in 'manage attachments'.

Remove any leaves that are more dead than alive, they're not gonna recover. Only trim the absolute necessary and if unsure, leave it.

lol i know, right? I got it fixed now, i got another socket splitter for the fixture that kept dropping the bulb, so its all better now

i'm not sure when to start 12/12. I'm thinkin next week maybe? I wanted to wait till mid January but i'll probably start at the beginning of the month or something. I'm so nervous to start flowering too!! I don't wanna end up with a male after all this
