Helping my friend turn over to the Green Side!

Discussion in 'Apprentice Marijuana Consumption' started by Ganjah Druid, Oct 1, 2008.

  1. Hullo!

First of all let me elaborate a little more then the title suggest:

I have a friend, one of my best friends, he is a really moralistic and paranoic person, he's quite open minded but he's got some really bad misconceptions about what pot does; what kind risk to your health do cannabis pose; and overall all the bullshit the regular media feeds ya.

So one night we are hanging around and we smoke a joint in a public place with some other acquaintances of mine :smoke: , mind you this is not his first time, some of his other friends and even "most" of his co-workers smoke it and he had tried with them; then after 30 mins he is feeling paranoid and wants to go home, he is saying that he is not feeling well so we leave. The day after he is neck deep in guilt and feeling like a 10 year old christian boy that just discovered masturbation, and decides that he is never again going to smoke it.

You would say, "fine it's his choice", but what it concerns me is that because of all the shit that he has in his head about marijuana he haven't been able to really kick back and enjoy it, and I want him to really experiment it before saying something like "I'm never smoking this again", but before that can happen he needs to really get informed about cannabis, I tried explaining some stuff to him but everything I say is worthless since (thru his eyes) I'm just a stoner trying to induce him into doing drugs , so I want to show him some material that he can believe, something to read possibly watch and hopefully instruct him a little bit before we try hitting it one more time :bongin:.

So far in my list I have a documental (or half documental) which is Super High Me, I personally thought it was great, I'm trying to get "Grass" but I´m having a hard time finding it, also a couple of websites with medical facts and such, what else can you guys recommend, anything from books to websites to movies is ok, I'll go and get it if it can help.

Well that's all, kinda of a legthy second post, but I hope you guys don't mind

P.S: Don't be too nazi about my grammar since english is not my first language, thanks :p

    Documentary....geez!

Just kidding, your English is better than half of the English speakers on here. You should see my foreign language skills....

Good luck....and don't push too hard. That can worsen the situation. Just give him the facts, and a little nudge in the right direction.

  3. Holy shit, that's a lot of info. This should be stickied or sommat.

PS: Fuck the Green Side; the Dank Side is where the party's at.

  4. Oh my god thats alot of info but if i were you I wouldn't push it on his weed may be good for you and me but some people just may not like it. So try and educate him but don't make him do something he doesn't want to do.

  5. Yeah I would't do that, I just want him to experiment it rightfully before he takes a hasty decition.

    :laughing:lol I wrote that down.

    @someoneorother2:

Holy Jebus! this is waaaaaaaaaaaaaa....aay lot more then I was expecting :D, thanks a lot!, I'll get over it tomorrow morning when I come back to work, right now I'm leaving work and the interwebs at home aren't working.

I see this was the right place to come too:hello:

P.S: Thank you for the compliments, I try :)

  6. Thats the most links Ive ever seen at once!

  7. Woah, this forums move fast!, I had to navigate to the 3rd page to find this thread.

And I was browsing thru' the links and a bunch of them aren't working but those that do have a great wealth of information, I'm sure that with this I can even get my grandma smoking :smoking:

  8. i have a friend just like this, you just gotta keep trying to convince him.

as for another documentary, try totally baked

  9. Where are all those links copyed from ive seen someone else post that gigantic list before

  10. Heh...Well, the most recent posting of it was probably this.

  11. I'll try that one, thanks.

The funny thing is that by looking for documentaries I have come across to movies like "Jorge Cervantes Ultimate Grow DVD 2", "Guide to Growing" which is a collection of different video tutorial to growing cannabis, and a list of some 20 or more pdf files that teach you about pot and other stuff :D, all of which I wouldn't have known to look for if I were exclusively looking for that kind of material .

  12. I used to be really against smoking, but when I actually was educated about it and started doing it I loved it, and still do today :D

Your friend just needs to loosen up, OP. Hes probably worried that he will get "busted" some day, or become addicted or something.

  13. ''So one night we are hanging around and we smoke a joint in a public place with some other acquaintances of mine ''

This is where you screwed up bro. In order for a first timer to enjoy weed he has to be TOTALLY relaxed. So causing him to leave his level of comfort to smoke weed can be very stressful as it is, having him do it with people he doesnt know or doesnt know well can really kill the experience.

Talk to him, ask him to smoke it one more time, with JUST you, as a favor to his bro. Put on some upbeat music (i would say 80's rock or rave techno but thats just me ;)) bust out a few beers if you got em to wash down the itchy throat and just take massive rips and bullshit all night. You'll make a stoner out of him yet :D

For an extra nudge you shouldnt smoke for a week or so before you do this, that way it hits you both like a FUCKING TRAIN.

  14. Yeah your right, I was planning for our next time to be at home, just us, chilling, listening to music and talking about life and shit.

Actually we are going to move and share an apartment, hopefully beggining of next year, and I was thinking this would be the perfect moment to convert him :D, in the mean while I'll educate him about it and show him that M.J isn't that bad of a girl after all :hippie:

  15. Thanks someoneorother2 for the information +rep
