Hey, I have a disease called colitis. Apparently it will allow me to get access to medical marijuana. How would I go about getting it? Do I just ask my doctor?

Thanks

It isn't California. Many Canadians refer to Health Canada as Hellth Canada. I'll bet you $10 your doctor will not give you his signature. He has been strongly discouraged to do so. It is almost impossible to find a doctor who will sign! Go over to treatingyourself.com- a Canadian MMJ site and read what they say about it! :( Then think about heading south!

California is where it's at! :hello: I'm SO glad I'm in Cali!

Here is some reference:

http://www.medicalmarihuana.ca/
http://www.cannabisclub.ca/cc/

Specifically, this page has all the information you need to apply for medicinal cannabis in Canada, including a list of paperwork you have to fill out: http://www.medicalma.../applyinfo.html

I'm not sure about the above post, but luckily terminal patients in Canada can get very easy access to cannabis, which is really awesome.

Good luck to you, sir.

Possible, yes, but unlikely.

Most "insomnia" is short term and can easily be remedied by a change of diet, lifestyle, or moderate application of inexpensive pharmaceuticals.

Most doctors in Canada won't even bother prescribing anything for short-term insomnia. Most will make you visit a sleep clinic before any prescription or recommendation is made.

I'm also heard conflicting information concerning the potential for dependency and the use of MMJ for insomnia. I'm not really sure about that, though.

Hmm, I've had insomnia for most of my life, I'm actually going to see a doctor about it, and see what they think, but so far, only marijuanan has helped me get to sleep.

My best advice is that you mention cannabis has helped you in the past, but do not insist on it. Most doctors (in my experience) do not enjoy being patronized.

Don't ASK for a cannabis recommendation right off the bat.

Best of luck.

Yes, you can, but it requires the signature of TWO medical SPECIALISTS.

not just regular MD's, but specialists. Making it increasingly difficult to get or fake. Appropriately so in my opinion.

Giving my medical records would suffice? I was diagnosed when I was 16 (im 19 now ! JUP-JAYER! )

In high school, I was under this special code that allowed me to bring drinks to class(non-alcoholic, duh!), and that gave me the option to sit anywhere I wanted that would work for me.

I admit that it does play its paradox affect on me perfectly, making me a frekin tactical machine, but after a while Its just way too overwhelming... But just the side effects SUCK!

You could, talk to your doctor.

First things first. If you haven't tried conventional pharmaceutical treatments, then the doctor will almost certainly tell you no.

My best advice is that you bring your medical records, and first of state your problem. Describe how the condition has changed in recent times and about your experiences or concern with traditional pharmaceutical treatments.

Then simply state that you've found that cannabis has been very effective in it's treatment. Be sure to be descriptive and thorough, explain why you think it's more beneficial, let the doctor know that you've done your research, that you're aware of potential risks, etc.

Don't ask for MMJ, but ask them what they think of using MMJ as a treatment.

Doctors don't enjoy being patronized, so be calm, courteous, and open to suggestion. Many times getting a recommendation for MMJ will take multiple doctor visits and examinations of the issue.

That's all I can suggest.

Best of luck to you.
