I have had a hard time finding an answer for this question: Why is it important to think in terms of watts-per-plant than lumens-per-plant? Watts is simply a measurement of electricity used by an electrical component, whereas lumens is a measurement of light itself being output from a given source. Please, correct me if I am wrong on these assumptions. I currently have 125w of CFL on my plant that I have named Phoenix, which based on the numbers on the packaging, comes out to about 8000 lumens. I have read in some places that the ideal lumens is 2000-3000 per plant per square foot. With 8000 lumens in my growspace, I have a little over 4000 per square foot on one plant. Is this overkill in any way? Thanks
typicly higher wattage = higher lumen output, and theres no such thing as "overkill" when it comes to lumens on a plant.
Yea your all good but Lumens are seriously confusing. Well not really but what most people go for on here is still always actual wattage. So it would still be 100w per plant even with CFL.
ive heard that 10,000 lumens is what too shoot for not 100watts but 100 watts is only a little ways off of 10,000 lumens thats what i try too shoot for.
