California Medical Marijuana Driver

Discussion in 'Medical Marijuana Usage and Applications' started by MMJ Driver, Jun 13, 2008.

  1. For the last few months, I've been working as a delivery driver for a medical marijuana caregiver service in San Diego. It's been quite the experience. I've met hundreds of patients and have many stories to tell. So I thought I'd come on here, say hi, and answer any questions about what it's like to work as a medical marijuana driver.

    Ask me anything.

  2. well in 2-4 years i might move to my dads in Huntington beach. I need to get my license for my depression and so i can possibly grow some plants. if your prescribed p0t can you drie high? i can drive high really good =)

  3. thats what i said till i was driving back from a friends house stoned off my ass and thought i hit a deer on some back roads, long story short, i got out of my car in the middle of the road and looked around for 2 hours for a deer that wasnt there. lol

  4. Delivery, as in ... you bring their Medical Marijuana orders to them?

    ... That's freakin' awesome.

  5. Has anyone ever thought you were an undercover agent? :p

  6. Sounds like a pretty interesting job. I recently went to the dispensary in Oakland (someone else who is a card holder went in). I got a kick out of buying baked goods and such that are neatly labeled with a barcode and all. Something odd about seeing "commercialized" marijuana.

  7. That's awesome, I live in San Diego too.

I didn't think there were any dispenseries anymore though...I thought I read something about the county/feds shutting down all clubs in SD. How many good clubs are still around?

  8. It always depends on who pulls you over. If you get pulled over and have your medical papers, many state police will let you go--assuming you don't seem intoxicated. Some might take your bud and make you get it back from a judge. A county id card--not a medical prescription alone--is the only definite way not to run into trouble with state peace officers.

  9. That's right. We deliver to verified medical marijuana patients in San Diego. There are delivery services throughout California. Some charge a delivery fee. Others don't. We don't charge one--we don't believe it's right to charge people who are seriously ill or stretched beyond their means. If patients have money, they're always welcome to help with our gas fund. And many do. I get some very generous tips.

  10. There's always trepidation when you walk into a new situation. It's something I do everyday. But by the time the patient makes it to my delivery list, their doctor has verified their status with our office. My job is to check their documenation, make sure everything is as it's supposted to be. We're sticklers--cross every i, dot every t. Nobody's ever thought that I was an agent, but patients have unique ways of accepting their medication. I've seen some memorable things.

  11. We're not as commercialized as those big operations. We're just an itty bitty non-profit, trying to ensure sick people have access to their meds. I knew I'd meet stoners on this job, but I didn't realize I'd meet so many truly sick people. Helping out feels good.

  12. San Diego has a very large DEA presence due to the border with Mexico. So the environment in SD County has always been fractious compared with San Francisco or LA. At the moment, there are few (if any) storefronts open in San Diego. Two hours north, there are more than 200 in Los Angeles county. And vending machines.

What San Diego does have is delivery services. You can consult CA NORML for a list. Some are very good. I like the one I work for.

  13. good to see this!! Shoutout to san diego!
what's the funniest thing that hapenned to you after a delivery?

  14. The funniest delivery story I've heard wasn't me but another driver. He went to the home of a husband and wife. They answered the door in paintball goggles, and when he went inside, they'd set up targets throughout the house. Yup, they were having a paintball day in their living room. That'll keep you on your toes.

  15. wanna drive me some medicine.. in michigan:smoking:

  16. If you move to San Diego and get your medical card, I'd love to.

  17. haha, that made me laugh...wow, way to make the super stoned comment....I WIN!

  18. Yeah, I did that on purpose to fuck wit ya. It's a conspiracy, man...

  19. so even if your a non profit organization, could they still raid your delivery van? how much are your best of strains? do they only have delivery cars in SD?

  20. I live in cali also and there are a few delivery clubs in my area, so I have a couple of questions.

Do you,as the driver, verify the Dr.s note, or do you get pre approved at your place of business?

When you call and order, do you tell them what you want as far as strain, or do you bring a few for folks to look thru?

    Have you met any MILFS?
