Why You Should Vote For Barack Obama

Discussion in 'General' started by CosmicSerpent, Jan 13, 2008.

  1. The difference between Ron Paul and other presidents is that he wants to use his power to educate people of their constitutional rights. He has power as commander in chief that nobody can question, so withdrawal from our military empire is feasible.

With the people behind him, congress will have to change.

Regardless of how well Ron Paul does this election, he has started a political revolution. Be prepared to see more libertarian minded politicians coming out of the woodworks.

  2. Ah, but the thing is... it's pretty clear at this point that the people aren't behind him. He hasn't won a single state, and won't tomorrow either.... he's clearly behind McCain, Romney.... the best he can hope for is third place.

You might be on to something there.... I've thought about this too. I'm not sure that we'll ever see a president quite as Libertarian as Ron Paul. But if a Democrat wins the general election, I'm almost positive the 2012 Republican race will be less dominated by neo-cons, and a step towards Ron Paul's kind of thinking.

  3. The people voting aren't people, they are sheep. I'm not saying only sheep vote for other candidates than Ron Paul (If you support socialism and wars you have fundamental differences with Ron Paul, and I agree to disagree), but lets face it, the people in this country are slaves to the media.

I'm saying that in the small possibility (thanks to the media) that Ron Paul wins, the people cannot ignore common sense.

Why should we allow banks and corporations to operate at a moral hazard under the protection of the Federal Reserve and our fiat system? Limit the protection of FDIC. Nobody talks about this but Ron Paul.

Why criminalize a social/medical problem like drug use? (btw, did anyone see Ron Paul on MTV debates mention how Hemp seeds contain a much greater source of ethanol than corn? nice!)

Why give government control over everything when history has constantly proven that government inevitably works for self interest?

Why should we have over 700 bases in 130 countries? Why should we borrow money from China to prop up military dictators whilst we fight for democracy next door through the barrel of a gun?

I'm saying, if he was president, these topics won't be ignored.

  4. No, no they wont. im telling you if ron paul is still on the ballet when the primary elections are held here i will vote for him, but even if he get elected all it going to do be a protest vote against the washington establishment. Congress wont work with him and the people will not all be behind him. The reason is that the media and the establishment on both sides loath him, unless he has that media outlet he aint going nowhere as president. It might cause some polititions to redesign their views for the next election cycle but those fat arogant fucks on capital hill arn't bowing to ron paul or anyone else.

  5. Does everyone here seem to get there ignorant biased info on fox news or cnn...either way its getting annoying hearing comments that i previously heared on fox news or cnn...are people in america "CABLE POLITICIANS"...That seem to need another person to tell him/her what is right or wrong...blahblahblah,

  6. I've decided to vote for...nobody. I will not vote in a fascist system of government. Lobbyists control the country and we are just pawns in their game.

  7. if voting really mattered on a political scale,

you really think'd it be around still?

I believe in keeping my energy in things that are in the realm of my control.
Politics are not one of those things, I participate strongly in my local government because thats the government I have an influence in.
But our federal government i can guarantee does not have my interests/goals or wishes in mind when they legislating.

  8. I need to remember to go out and vote. I hope I do. Maybe I'll make a difference.

  9. Gotta go with Obama. McCain is so anti-marijuana. He wants people to be jailed for Marijuana. Screw him.
