GrassCity : Project Dorm

So I've been thinking....

I finally got around to reading that thread about the GrassCity Island (long enough!) and I chuckled to myself and thought, as many of you probably did, "wow, what a great idea! too bad it can't happen". And thats when it hit me, it can happen. Well, maybe not with the island and the palm trees and the tai hookers, but it could happen. If this sounds far fetched and almost impossible to do, then listen....

We are cool people. Lets face it, we just are. That has nothing relevant to the idea of Project GrassCity Dorm, but I wanted to say it. The idea is based on a couple of principals. I know that some of us are University students, hell a lot of us are around that age. I have seen the threads popping up more and more about how people hate living where they do, living with their parents, living on University property, etc. They can't smoke, they can't drink, they can't be loud, they can't do any of that fun stuff. I have also seen a lot of threads talking about how people can never seem to find a good dealer for weed (and some other things) and they wished they knew someone who lived close who could supply some dank for a good price! In addition, I have seen threads about how people wish they could grow plants in an environment where they don't have to hide it in the closet and can grow it openly and freely. Hell, they probably wish there could be a nice little fairy that would give them tips on growing throughout the day. Well, I can't offer you a fairy, but I can offer you up this idea...

Grasscity : Project Dorm

Introduction

Basically, it boils down to the idea that students or people on Grasscity would get together and all rent a house together in their local areas, possibly near an educational institution which some of the people attend. All would chip in for rent, the size of the "Dorm's" population would be determined by the group, as would all decisions. All decision would be made by the group and not one leader. A green democracy, if you will! People would pitch in for munchies and smoking sessions (etc) but would also buy their own food and things. Mandatory financial participation would be needed for rent and utilities, everything else would be voluntary, but remember, if you don't chip in for green you can't smoke that green! Location would be off campus and would be a house where smoking is allowed. Of course, all participants in Grasscity : Project Dorm would need to be over the age of 18.

Students vs Non-Students

This idea of a Dorm would apply to both students and non-students. If you are a student this might entice you for, besides the obvious reasons, the financial aspect. You would be chipping in with probably about (at least) 4 other people which would reduce some University costs (maybe) but you would also be with a great group of guys and not random strangers. For non University students, this would be a good idea as well because you are paying less for rent (as stated above) and you will be in a pro-smoke environment. Plus, imagine all the fun you'd have!

Growing

There would be GDorms and NGDorm, or Growing Dorms and Non-Growing Dorms. The difference being, obviously, one dorm would allow growing and the other would not. The Dorm's founders (the first people who start the dorm in that area) would make this decision and all Dorm applicants would need to accept this decision. The reason the decision needs to be made is because all housemates would need to be crystal-clear on the possible legal ramifications if caught with growing weed in the Dorm.

Rules

Rules would mostly be determined after the Dorm has its housemates, with the exception of the one listed above, after which any housemate who is unhappy with the rules can walk. Then, once these rules are drawn up including financial participation, a contract would be signed so is that there will be no discrepancies in the future. One major rule, however, will be that in no way, shape, or form would the Dorms be affiliated with GrassCity as a company.

Now this is just a basic rundown, I have just thought of this and it will probably never go anywhere but I like to think it might. Post some ideas here but for christ sake don't post any actual advertising for people to move in! It should be done through Instant messaging/Telephone and eventually get a meet up to make sure everyone is chill and then move from there. This is still well in the planning stages.

I say you've done the easy part of thinking up the idea, but now you have to do the hard part of putting it into practise.

Thats why i said no planning would be done online, only the basic ideas, from there it would be taken into the members hands outside of the forum. It would be there job to organize a few get-togethers to make sure everyones sound, and go from there without posting it online. If it all worked out and they got a house they would obviously never write/tell the address or anything online like that, thats obvious.

I don't think Grasscity as a company would affiliate itself with an illegal operation because of the possible ramifications it could have on thier store. Its a idealistic utopia for weed smokers but would only be possible in a country that had legalized the growth and possession of marijuana....but its a great idea :smoking:, and I am sure something similar to this is going on at some dorm at UC Berkeley

Yeah this is a good one, but a really tough one to implement...although a camping trip or a fucking road trip is a joke to set up i dont get why some shit like that cant happen
