After reading and reading and doing some more reading on here, I have decided to take the plunge and build my first grow closet. I have never grown before so this endeavor should be interesting.

My closet is 8’ tall x 5’2”deep x 6’8” wide. I will house my veg cabinet inside the grow closet. It is 3’ tall x 29” wide x 17” deep. My mother and 2 gal bubbler (seedlings and clones) will be housed in it. I will be using the bubble bucket grow system as it has worked so well for Rumpleforeskin, Mordgrow and many others on here. I will vary the bucket setup system slightly (explain later). I will practice my 1st grow with good ole schwag brick bag seed. No loss if I screw up...lol

Thanks man. I have put alot of hours into it. I am ready to start seeing some results soon.

My budget is $1500 over the last 4 months and I am about there. I think I have everything I need other than some decent beans and I am working on that. I won't need them until after my first test grow with schwag bag which gives me a few months.

I am still patiently waiting for my vortex fans to arrive along with the variable speed controllers. I am also waiting for my reverse osmosis system. I am at a stand still until I receive these items and get them installed.

I linked all the buckets together today and ran water through them for a quick leak test. I had a couple drips around the ball valve seals on 2 of the buckets so I had to tear them down and work on making them water tight. I don't want any leak problems before I start the grow.

I am happy to say my drainage setup worked flawlessly. I have my central a/c closet that shares a wall with my grow closet. I ran 8' of 1/2 inch hose from the grow closet, through the wall into the a/c closet plumbing drain. I attached the pump inline with the drain valve of my reservoir and it pumped 20 gallons of water out of the bucket system into the plumbing drain in about 5 minutes. At least that went right today! :hello:...lol

thanks for the props. My goal is to have everything up and going by the end of this upcoming weekend. I have my grow ready to move from the germination bubbler into the grow buckets.

My sunleaves hygrometer is a p o s... It reads 83 degrees when the room is 72 in both the indoor and outdoor mode with the probe. I could not find a calibration setting on it. I had it side by side with my A/C digital thermostat mounted on the wall and the digital thermostat for my a/c reads 72 and this thing shows 83. I gues I can keep it and always subtract 11 degrees from the reading or find a new one that is accurate. I have no clue if the humidity is correct on it. It hovered 39% - 41%.

Any one have a hygrometer they would recommend that is accurate? I need one to monitor inside my veg chamber where my seedling, clones and mother will be living.

Thanks

My reverse osmosis system arrived. It is installeded and waiting for water. I need a new reservoir for the RO water. The one I have cracked at the site where I drilled a 3/4" hole (splintered plastic) to mount my drain valve. I am going to get a 16-18 gallon rubbermaid container today. I should have it producing RO water by tonight.

My vortex's are working great. The room stays a cool 77 degrees while the 1000w is on. I tested it for 3 hours. I can't wait to get some RO water in the buckets and get this grow started. Should be going on Saturday.

Cheers!

Here are a few shots of the Vortex's routed in my attic.

The room exhaust is tapped into a vent through the top of the roof which is 46 ft off the ground. Any left over odors from the carbon filter should mix with the wind and blow away from the house.

The other vortex exhausts into the attic for the light. I am trying to figure out how to seal the glass under the light because when the fan is on high, it whistles like crazy... Any suggestions?

I picked up my new rubbermaid RO reservoir today. I couldn't find an 18 gallon so I settled on a 32...lol a little overkill but it fits. I set the float valve to shut off the RO at about 20 gallons. That will be plenty for flushing 4 x 5 gal grow buckets and 1 x 5 gal fill, drain and mix reservoir. I'm figuring about 17.5 - 18 gallons will flush and refill the entire system.

I will tap the water line and check the RO system tomorrow night when I'm home for the weekend in case there are any leaks or adjustments that need to be dealt with. I want to baby sit the entire system all weekend just in case there are any issues to deal with like busted water lines etc....

I'm nearly there. It's been a long 4 months of planning, obtaining everything and putting it all together. I hope I'm blessed with at least a small amount of green thumb! :D

My goal when i decided to make a grow room back in Feb was to start the grow by July 1st. I have the grow room complete, buckets all tied together, no more leaks. Veg cab built, lights installed, both vortex's installed in the attic, RO mounted, RO reservoir installed and my re-circ pump is hooked up and cycles the nutes throughou all 4 grow buckets as designed.

I don't have my scrubber yet but it is in the works. Not really a need for it right now anyway. My plants from germination are 12 days old.

I moved 4 x 12 day old plants from the veg room bubbler over to the 5 gal grow bubblers on July 1 and the grow has begun.

I will be starting a grow journal soon.
Cheers! :smoke:

I am testing my 1st grow with bagseed. I figured I would have some screw ups along the way with ph, nutes etc and if I kill them, no big deal. I have ordered WW and NL from a seedbank about 5 weeks ago and I am still patiently waiting for them to arrive.

I will only veg these for a couple weeks them send them straight to flower to sex them. Hopefully i'll get a female or 2 out of the 4 to continue on and finish the flowering.

I am using the GH nutes with the Lucas formula as recommended by Rumpleforeskin. He has had great results and it seemed fairly simple.

Thanks.

I'm already off track. ughh!

Lucas quote from: https://www.cannabis...hp?t=892&page=2

"I Do Not Recommend using 0-5-10 for anything except fluorescent lights. For Blooming, and vegging under High Pressure Sodium, I recommend 0-8-16

whoever gave the impression that 0-5-10 is good for vegging.. was making life more complicated than necessary, and inviting Magnesium defficiency (my problem already), which is helped by adding Cal Mag, or epsom salt

but I dont recommend Any Cal Mag or Epsom with 0-8-16

I disavow any knowledge of having ever recommended 0-5-10 for Anything but florescent lights."
and so on

it's a great read so far.

and I mixed my nutes @ 50% of 0-5-10 under a 1000 watts...lol My plants may dead when I get home from work tonight.

psychoticj,

I got it on abay from this seller:

<TABLE cellSpacing=0 cellPadding=0 width="100%" border=0><TBODY><TR><TD width="2%"></TD><TD vAlign=top width="33%"><TABLE cellSpacing=0 cellPadding=0 width="100%"><TBODY><TR><TD class=sectiontitle style="BORDER-BOTTOM: #5f66ee 1px solid">Meet the seller</TD></TR><TR><TD><TABLE cellSpacing=0 cellPadding=0 width="100%"><TBODY><TR><TD style="PADDING-RIGHT: 4px; PADDING-LEFT: 0px; PADDING-BOTTOM: 0px; PADDING-TOP: 0px" noWrap>Seller:Posted Image</TD><TD>Posted Imagepurewaterclub*com
</TD></TR></TBODY></TABLE></TD></TR></TBODY></TABLE></TD></TR></TBODY></TABLE>
with shipping, it was right at $100. It works great! Shipping took about a week.

took about 30 minutes to install.

instead of a pressure tank, I bought a float valve (small version of the toilet float valve) and mounted towards the top of the rubbermaid. The RO water fills though the valve and when it's full, it automatically shuts off.

I changed out the rubbermaid from a 33 gal to a 22 gal as i have it sitting on my veg cab and I was scared of the weight for the 33 gal tub.

I have the float valve set to fill about 16-17 gallons now. It is still heavy at 136 lbs but not like it was.

I recommend the system.

Regards!
