Well folks, my first harvest was a success, and I have 4 more plants flowering right now in soil. When I got my closet it came all set up for hydro, but I wasn't feeling it right then. I have had one brief, failed, hydro attempt thus far, but this one will be different. Below are some pictures of my new flowering set up. I put up some mylar, and raised my MH a bit. I tidied things up, and also bought some ducting so I can finally get my exhaust system going in there. The strain this time around will be MK-Ultra by THSeeds. I saw them in the Big Book of Buds II a while back and ordered them. Here are a few pictures of the set up right now. The seeds are germinating as we speak, so hopefully in a few days I'll have some pics of some sprouts. Wish me luck everyone......

Thats a lot of plants for that space, you do it right and 2 will more than fill up your space, trust me, you need to be prepared to kill off all but one per bucket, also, you want your rockwool covered by your grow stones or algea will form on it. Also, is that a DWC hydro setup? Drop me a line if you need any help.

haha I'm glad you're always willing to help out those who go hydro chimera. I almost sent you a PM last night, but I figured I'd wait till you offered first. I know the space isn't that big, but I'm going for more of a sea of green this time. I planted 10 seeds and left 2 of the net pots empty so I have easy access to take my reading every day. Also this is the first time I am not using feminized seeds, so I figure half the seeds will be boys, and that will free up a little space for the rest of them later down the line. this is the bucket that came up with my cabinet when I bought it (i know, i know) but it was set up for a drip system. I didn't want a drip system so I tore out the drippers, and got a couple pumps, and some airstones and voila. I do like that the bucket is short though, because those of you that have seen my flowering cabinet know it's not that tall, so with this setup hopefully I'll have 5 or 6 -3ft tall lants when I'm done. That's it for now, but thanks for the responses guys, and I'll put up pics when there is some progress.

Haven't tried it myself, but MK Ultra is supposed to have some super potent phenos if you get lucky and find one. It seems to be on a lot of people's list of the strongest smokes they've had. IIRC it is also very stinky when growing. Good luck.

Maybe I should change my name to Hydroman, Nah.

So how long are you planning to veg? And are you going 24/0 lighting. Also, what is your TDS level, should be around 150 with a pH of 5.5, above 6.0 and you have nute lockout and below 5.0 then all kinds of bad shit starts to happen.

Chimera hydroman is suitable for you, especially for those people that have seen your ladies. TDS of my tap water is around 130. My bucket right now is 274ish. I believe I read that you measure the ppm on top of what your tap water is normally, is that correct? If so then I'm right on target. pH was around 6.5 this morning so I guess I'll take it down a bit more over the next day or two. Still used to soil I suppose. 5.8 is where it'll be.....A couple of the little guys are already coming out to play, so I'm alreasy further along than I have gotten in the past....lol. Anyways when you said earlier about the pebbles on top of the rockwool.....can that wait till the seeds have all sprouted. I don't want to go in there poking around just yet, but if it needs to be done, then it needs to be done. I'm out for now, but thank you all again, and be sure to keep checking in.........peace!

PS.....I was planning on going 24/0 for veg, just because that is what I'm used to doing. I could back it down to 18/6 though....what do you think?

Well 10 seeds were planted, and 10 seeds have sprouted! Below are a few pics of all the little seedlings. The last picture is how I rearranged the cubes so they're all covered by rocks (thanks for the tip chimera.) Right now I have all these under my 250w MH light. I have a T5 fluro fixture, I've been thinking about putting over them till they're a bit bigger, but they don't seem to have a problem with the MH, so I am sticking with that for now. I'll probably try to move it down a little bit in a week or so when I have some leaves. That's it for now just a quick update. There's also a picture of the new air pump I have coming. The one I have now is doing the job, but when these babies are up and growing I want them to have all the air they can handle. :)

No, its great at 24/0, Thats the light schedule I use. Adjusting the rockwool must be done before the root hits the net pot or it shouldn't be done, in which case use any thing to cover the rockwool so that lt keeps the light off the rockwool.

By the way I like my ID its just too bad there has to be a seedbank with the same name.

Yeah I got it done in time. The roots were just down through the rockwool. I've been able to keep my pH very steady so far, but can you think of any reasons that my tds could be rising. Can't figure it out. Maybe I need to calibrate my meter, but I ordered one of the hanna pH, tds, thermometer that you just leave in your solution at all times. Should be here within the week.

Here's a few more pictures from tonight. The first ones of my new air pump hooked up and going with my old one as well. I now have 6-12" airstones in my reservoir. Second picture is of all the plants in there right now. They all seem to be doing well at the moment, can't wait to see them over the next few days with some new water, and 5 times as much air! Third and fourth pictures are a couple little snags I'm running into. the third one is of one of the plants. It has it's 2 main leaves, but the next set, isn't developing as they should. Mutant perhaps? The fourth picture is kind of hard to spot the problem. A couple of my seedlings look like they have a little bit of ligth bleaching on them. I suppose it is very well possible, considering they've been under my MH since the were planted, instead of fluoros like I usually do. Check out the leaves on the plant. They are developing well, but they look a little bleached towards the middle of them. The pics a bit blurry but hopefully someone will be able to spot it. Anyways that's it for now. I've been keeping the pH right between 5.5 and 5.8, and the ppm right now is about 350. I'm pretty pshyced cause I discovered that the bathroom sink seems to put out water with a bit lower tds than the kitchen. I don't really feel like springing the cash for a reverse osmosis filter right now. Alright now I'm really done ranting for now, please leave all comments after the beep...................beep!

So I got my new toy today, I'll have to post pictures later. My ph/ tds/ temp. meter. Just leave 3 probes in my reservoir, and I get constant standings. I also got some solutions to calibrate my meters. Come to find out my ph meter was about 2.0 low, and my tds meter was about 300 ppm low. That means my reservoir has been off since the start. Luckily, the problem is now fixed, and all my meters are calibrated, so kids take this as a lesson........

nice growing fatbob. this is going to be sweet. I'll take a stab at this, I know chimera will come along to correct me if I'm wrong. your plants are using a little more water than nutrients at this point thus raising your ppm count. to my understanding this is how you determine what your ppm should be. if ppm rises in a day then adjust solution to lower ppm, if it goes down adjust nute solution a little stronger.

Here's a little update on my garden......
Thanks for the responses joe and chimera. I thought my ppm was rising so I researched it a bit, and learned right what joe said about the plants taking up the water and leaving the nutes. Unfortunately in my case it wasn't so much rising as it was high in the first place cause my meter wasn't calibrated. That's all better now. I have 2 different pH and tds meters now, so I won't have any more problems. pH and tds have been adjusted to the proper levels, and consistently kept, and all of my plants have reacted very well to it. Here's a few pictures.

Pic 1: Roots are out of the baskets and in drinking up their nutes!
Pic 2: Just a shot of all the plants together.....
Pic 3: This is the one that had the rusty spots on it, she (hopefully) is doing much better now.
Pic4: Last but not least, for now, is my mutant. Haha. The one that only had 2 leaves for a while played catch up pretty damn fast. It's new growth is coming in healthy and it's stem (as well as all the other plants) is getting thicker.

Summary: this hydro thing isn't as hard is it's cracked up to be ;)

Keep the comments coming fellas, I appreciate them!!
