Bernie Sanders has stated more than once he would like to decriminaize marijuana on a federal level. He recently stated:

"We need to rethink the so-called War on Drugs and take marijuana out of the federal Controlled Substance Act".

So Blades, especially American blades, but this forum is open to worldwide opinion too. I ask: How do you think he will or he should go about legalizing marijuana? What impact do you think it will have on our country or the world?

Most people, are hoping he adds it to the Beareu of alcohol and firearms and taxes it as such. But that also means the Feds have power to control who smokes it and how much they get. Just like a prescription from your doctor. And there will be new regulations. Most patients today, may not qualify for federal MMJ regulations and therefore the patient that get turned down, will have to buy from the street, which will re-fuel the cartels.

I don't believe the Feds will recognise recreational use on thier level at first. It will all be medical.
The direction this country is heading, I would not doubt for a minute that some kind of anti-marijuana terrorist group would form and burn all the recreational marijuana farms or factories.

I like it now the way it is in California. The patients get to make thier own prescriptions. The medicine is so readily available and easily accessable. I hope nothing changes, except maybe he price goes down.

I also think Hemp should be legalized on a Federal level as well. Used industrially.

  3. Ok I did not ask if Sanders is gonna win. Let's say for instance that YOU were in charge of legalizing MJ. How would you go about doing it? How do you think it would impact the USA?

  4. First step is taking it off the schedule 1 list...if that ever happens the fight will be over.

  6. If he has a shot at it, he'd better fucking deliver, is all I'm gonna say. So nothing is misconstrued, I am, in fact, a Bernie supporter.

  7. The democratic party will never allow Bernie to become the nominee, but if he were to make it and actually did go after decriminalization, the quickest way he would ever get it through is by using the mega tax windfall it would create as the bait. All politicians do what they do for money...in some way. In the next few years if changes aren't made to bring down the national deficit, our deficit will be more than the value of the economy of the entire country. In other words, we would officially be upside-down as a NATION!!!! Good Lord....what have we allowed to happen here? Sticking your head in the sand for a few decades and taking for granted that your elected officials are acting in YOUR best interest instead of their own, was pretty stupid. I like Bernie and I feel pretty sure he's truly got the best interest of the poor and downtrodden at heart, but his plan won't work. Bernie's great ideas would take the average tax rate from somewhere in the 30% range and bump it up to at least 60%, but probably more, just to give all this free stuff to people. You can't give something away that you don't have and I think it's pretty fair to say we don't have funds to pay for that. We've got to first find some people with some sense who CAN act in the best interest of others rather than themselves, and then convince them to run for political office and get them elected....regardless of party. Decent people won't even participate in the process anymore because of what it's turned into. But if the next president of this country doesn't make some serious changes in the "party on the hill," this nation will officially fall and I can't even begin to imagine what it would be like to live here then. I guarantee you that sitting on your butt and admiring your "vape" or even growing weed for fun would quickly fall down the priority list and survival would be your main focus!! We're headed that way. God help us! TWW

  8. So, what's the answer?

  9. The deficit is a half trillion and the gdp is 18 trillion..the banks took all of our money for bailouts because they were "too big to fail" and are even bigger now than back then..they went on vacations and got raises while we all watched do you remember that? Well they take all of their profits and keep them in offshore account (see panama papers) because it's going to come down to who can outlast the next great depression..consumers won't be buying so the corporations won't make money but they wont need to..they are bleeding us dry until the next collapse and will be chilling on their private islands with their private militaries while we all suffer

  11. 1. Would he? Probably not. Polarizing issues like this are used to manipulate voters. If they work to get voters to behave predictably, then the political parties will not want actual law changes on this.
    2. Could he? He can't change the law by himself. He can choose to not enforce it, though.
    3. How? Don't fund marijuana-related enforcement.

  12. It would be extremely hard for him to decriminalize drugs, but he could definitely get the ball rolling.

  13. But until we see a massive change in congress I don't think we will get anywhere with drug decriminalization
