Cannabis for Restless Legs Syndrome

Discussion in 'Medical Marijuana Usage and Applications' started by BubbaFresh, Nov 28, 2015.

  1. Alright GC, I have some questions that I never thought I would have to ask. Both my mother and grandmother suffer from severe Restless Leg Syndrome. They're both from rural Kansas, and know nothing about marijuana. Today my mother told me my dad had been doing research, and found that marijuana is great for treating restless legs (No surprise, weed helps everything.) So here's the kicker. We live in Kansas, so there's nothing legal here. I smoke a lot, so I can get their medicine. I just smoke my bud, but they don't want to smoke. What would be there best option for them? Cannabutter? Vaporizer? I want it be be as easy and mild an experience it can be for them. Thanks for all your help!

  2. look up some food recipes and run it by them... good luck!

  3. I infuse coconut oil and put a spoon of it in my tea at night, an indica strain. Helps my restless legs, neuropathy, and muscle spasms. I use on oz bud or high quality trim per lb of coconut oil.

  4. Edibles would be the best bet in my opinion. I've had RLS since I was a kid and nothing helped over the years except to keep moving, which wasn't always possible. I started making edibles a few years ago and now I seldom have any issue which was not the case when toking the previous 40 years..

I would recommend a light dose, maybe 5-10mg, in brownies, candies or other things that they may prefer using cannabutter or coconut oil. An Indica if possible in the evening at first then as needed once they become acclimated. Evening is a good way to start because they can simply sleep it off if it's too much. My RLS was always the worst at night. [IMG]

  5. Considering they have no experience, I think I would go with a vape over edibles. Only because I find it easier to control a dosage with a vape, whereas edibles can be hit or miss, but I know there are others who feel exactly the opposite

  6. Edibles. Kansas has the strictest anti-marijuana laws in the nation.
