Advice you would tell your younger self (if you could)

  1. I think we all have some regrets in life, I know I do.

    I'm only 23, but I would tell my teenage self to get more involved in sporting and social events while I was in highschool because I would have a greater number of friends now.

    I also would tell my younger-self not to get too drunk at parties, because you never want to be the most drunk person at a social gathering.

    What about you guys?

  2. I am 24.
    Preteen: Disregard that prescription or the next ten years of your life will revolve around it.

    High school self: Live through this and you won't look back.
    Undergrad self: Don't waste time and effort fighting your nature, it doesn't add value. Relax around girls, they can tell when you see them as a target. Sleep more, panic less. You're funny. People like you. And yes, the amount of studying you do will be worth it.

  4. high school self;

    fuck school, quit being book smart. Having a shotgun, a rifle and a 4wd truck is cheaper than a college ed and gaurantees you can hunt, and fish, and live anywhere. You might not have a yacht and a 200k salary, but you'll meet the basic needs.

    I did a semester of that college shit, until I realized there was no gaurantee I'll find a good paying job.

    I would have told myself to learn construction, mechanic work, join the ag class and raise cattle. much more

  15. Don't move in with a woman unless it is absolutely necessary.

    Don't smoke weed/drink alcohol/watch TV while the sun is up Monday to Friday.

    Save 30% of everything you make. No risky investments. Bank a/c.

    Before you go out at night have a wank, it takes the edge and pressure off.

    Listen to your gut, trust no one but yourself and you will do fine.

  16. To me 10 years ago: "Just leave dota alone stupid guy. WoW isn't any worse or better but DON'T PLAY DOTA. it's a trap!!"
