Edible Recipe Request: Please Help

Discussion in 'Weed Edibles' started by basedkyle, Nov 24, 2015.

  1. Hi guys! I am quite the noob here, so I am not sure if this is the place to post this. Also, I have attempted to search for a related thread, but couldn't find one, so if I am missing something please feel free to redirect me!

I am looking for new recipes to cook/bake cannabis wax with. I have been making hard candy and I enjoy it, but I am looking for new ventures! Caramel has hit me as a possibility, but I am unsure if it is feasible - the recipe I am interested in trying requires that I make the candy, add the cream butter and vanilla, and then re-placing the pot on low heat to stir in the cream and butter. Would re-placing the pot, with the wax melted in it, on the heat mess with the wax?

If someone could please let me know about this caramel idea/other recipes for cooking and baking wax with, I would highly appreciate it. :)

  2. This is a great idea. I don't feel much from edibles made with cannabutter anymore.

  3. Yes, as heat desteriorates THC and such ... what you seem to be needing is a new 'vehicle' or carrier for your medicine.

Wax of any BTO method will have latent residue form the solvents used, even if purged, trace ammounts remain,

BUT it will still melt into Coconut Oil or Everclear, which allow you to dose pre made goodies ...

example, after mixing coconut oil and hash wax allow to cool then mix into CreamCheese Icing and dip granola bars and refridgerate. sna be easily cut to proper dosage.

other ideas that can be 'buttered' muffins, crispie treats, pancakes, toast, poptarts, cookies, etc

  4. Caramel makes a great edible and is fairly simple whether you make it from scratch or use store bought ones. As long as your cooking temperature doesn't exceed 250F then you're good.

Be sure to decarb your wax first then melt it into your butter and let it firm up a little before using.in your recipe. Chocolate can be made the same way. The issue with caramel and chocolate is that you don't want to use a lot of butter or oil so that they aren't too soft so fortunately with wax you can concentrate it to make it strong if that's what you want.

I've made caramel quite a few times and after writing this I may make some, too. [IMG]

  5. Sam can you give us the recipe? I have a bunch of shatter and I'd like to make some candy or something out of it.

  6. What kind of candy do you want, O'daisy? [IMG]

  7. Whatever is easies to make, I guess. Are the caramels hard to make? How much shatter would you need to make something?

My experience with edibles is they put me to sleep or I feel nothing at all. I'd like to find a doseage where I feel buzzed and I can go about my day, instead of needing to go to bed.

  8. Do you know how to decarb your shatter, O'daisy? [IMG]

  9. I thought wax was already decarbed since the weed used to make the wax was heated in the process? Maybe not heated enough? Idk.

Unfortunately, that's not enough heat. You place your wax or shatter in an oven safe glass or silicone container at a temperature of 240°F until all the bubbles are gone. The bubbles are the CO2 from the carboxyl group that's bubbling off, decarbing. When that's finished you then use it in edibles. [IMG]

  11. Okay, so would a gram of shatter be enough for brownies or cookies? After you decarb it , do you melt it in coconut oil?

  12. Actually, I was going to tell you how to make a very simple chocolate, something real easy but pretty foolproof to see if it works for you.

After you decarb your shatter, dissolve it in about 10ml of warm coconut oil a tablespoon of butter.

Take a half cup of baking chocolate chips. Melt in a saucepan at a low heat.

When the chocolate starts to melt, add your infused coconut oil/butter. We only want to use a minimal amount because you don"t want a soupy mess.

Stir well and then pour mixture over wax paper or into molds.

Use a knife or spoon to smooth the chocolate into any shape you wish.

Put in refrigerator or freezer for 2 hours.

If you use more chocolate use more shatter and oil/butter proportionately.

Using one gram of shatter in half a cup of chocolate will give you 10 pieces at approximately 70mg per piece. [IMG]
