I want to order a PH meter and was wondering if someone can recommend a decent model, I'm done buying junk, I would normally buy the cheapest one I find then buy the one that actually works so I would rather spend a little more rather than having to buy two of them, can I get a quality meter for around 60 to 90 bucks? any help appreciated.

  2. Good move! Ive never purchased one but the good ones I have always seen mentioned are just north of $100

  3. thanks, now I just need a good brand (model) I don't care if it's a little more money as long as it does what it's supposed to do, just looking for an opinion from someone who has used one accuratly and reliably.

  4. Honestly they will all be alike.. Some are better than others for accuracy but at the end of the day they OLNY last 9-12 months and you will have to replace them.. If you plan on doing 1-2 grows a year spend no more than $30.. If you are going to growing non stop go with blue lab, Milwaukee.. They are both good.. NEVER buy a combo ph/ppm/ec meters... The ph will stop working within 12 months so you basically have a $200 ppm/ec meter..

How do I know this.. I have a $200 Milwaukee sitting down stairs that is an over priced ppm/ec meter. I have a $80 blue lab ph that is great but in the end a $20-$30 ph meter will work just as good.. You will have to calibrate it before each use.. I do it to my $80 pen..

On a side not the only reason I bought the $80 unit is my $200 one took a poo and I was in the middle of a grow and my ONLY local grow shop had an $80 and $120 unit... So I was forced to but it or wait 3-4 more days to water for shipment to arrive.

  5. The last one I bought was about $65 or so and it has worked great. Make sure that whatever you buy is waterproof. I did the same thing you did...bought the cheap one in the beginning, only to discover a couple of months down the line that the thing hadn't worked correctly since I took it out of the box. I looked at the one I have and the only thing I can see on it in the way of markings is "Martini Instruments." I think it's made by Milwaukee actually, but it's been a champ since word go and my plants finally started looking like they should once I got the pH thing straight. Of course, the ultimate brand is BlueLab. They make primo instruments that you can count on lasting for years. One of theirs (pH meter only) will run you around $100 and if you can afford it, that would be the absolute best one to get. However, there are lesser expensive ones that work well also. TWW

  6. thank you, that's what kind of info I was looking for, I'll look around and see what I can find made by Milwaukee and Blue Lab, thanks again.

  7. I was looking at this package, $110, it will be worth it if it's accurate

  8. I have that pen and it works great.. Amazon has it for $75ish solution I say is a must (keeps probe properly moist) Around $10. I can't see what the combo pic ( not clear enough for me on my phone)

Bottom line is Amazon can save you $25.. Unless you feel the combo thing is worth the $25

  9. thanks for the reply, this was from amazon and I think this is what I'll go with, thanks again.

  10. I believe it is a single point calibration make sure you have 7.0 and 4.0 pH solution
    If it is duel point..
