Does alcohol affect your tolerance level?

Discussion in 'Marijuana Consumption Q&A' started by verdejuana, Nov 21, 2015.

  1. Hello,
New here, just made an account.

I have noticed recently when I have maybe a beer or two, my high doesn't seem the same; even if I had the beer several hours before.
Can having a small to medium amount of alcohol affect your high?
Like does alcohol release some of the same "feel good" hormones that weed does? resulting in less from the weed?

    Also,
Since noticing this, I've decided to take about a 2 week tolerance break. Would having some beer during that break affect my tolerance in any form?

    Thanks!

  2. being high requires no alcohol.

adding alcohol makes you drunk in any situation.

being drunk brings you down from being high, if you were even high at all.

  3. Yes, when you mix alcohol and cannabis you will get very high and very drunk, if you're not careful you will get the spins, throw up, and possibly black out. I did once when I was new to smoking. Just keep it in moderation and go slow.

  4. I'm just wondering if having any amount of alcohol in me will somehow change my tolerance.
I wasn't drinking to get drunk or anything. I just had a beer or two with lunch and still noticed something different.

  5. Alcohol is certainly fuel for my marijuana high - in fact, it's been scientifically proven to speed up the absorption of THC.

It also helps buffer my anxiety while toking.

Here in my country, you will hardly ever catch anyone smoking without a beer on the other hand.

  6. Not really. At least, not to me.
I drink a lot..(and I mean A LOT).. I've been twisted many times and just high also.. And I feel the same.
I mean, if I'm already high and start drinking.. My high won't be affected at all.. I'll just get "another effect" plus the high.

  7. So like is half of you high while the other half is drunk? Or do you just have drunk moments and high moments at different times while being cross faded?

  8. nope not me.

Hmmm kinda.. I feel both effects (at the same time). It depends of how much I drink/smoke.
For example.. I'm smoking sativa and I get all the creativity and head high plus the alcohol effects
