Platinum led p600 organic grow 1st time I was first growing with cfls in a small box so I started my forum on the micro grow. I switched over to the LED because I thought the cfls were just crap. Anyway, here's where I started. http://forum.grasscity.com/index.php?/topic/1380218-My-first-grow---CFL---custom-box Here is where I am now. Feeding with Neem Seed Meal. 5 gallon smart pots. 12/12 for the past two and a half weeks. Temps are 73 day and 63 night. What do you guys think? Are they too small for their age? They were vegging under cfls for like two months. I hated cfls though.
Oh yea, while they were seedlings things went really bad for about a week. The heat was sometimes 90 and they were drying out quickly and I wasn't watering enough. A bunch didn't make it or were just not growing at all so I stayed with these 4 some of those bottom leaves are dried up. They don't smell at all unless you rub your fingers on the leaves or get really close. That behind the plants is a portable AC I have to run for a few hours during the day sometimes. I have a 240cfm inline fan with duckting out the window bringing in cool air.
Wouldn't it make more sense to evacuate the room with the inline instead of dumping air from outside and running an AC? Your space will passively intake and suck cool air from outside, assuming you aren't in a sealed environment. OR, get a 2nd fan and fan speed controller..
Hey kasey thanks. I was wondering that myself but I couldn't think of another way to get night time temps in the 60s unless I bring in the cold air from outside. If and when I have to turn on the AC (I had to today because it was like 85 outside during the day and that's my plants night time) the fan bring in air gets turned off and the AC brings the air in. It has intake and exhaust out the window. I also have a DIY carbon filter above my LEDs bring the hot air out the tent.
Those buds look impressive for 3 weeks. What is your soil mix and what is the strain you are growing? I just ordered my second Platinum P300 light. Two of these in my 2ft x 3ft x 5ft tent will really keep it bright for flowering. The P600 was a little too long for my tent. Below is one bud from my last grow under the platinum LED light. I got almost three ounces off of that plant! View attachment 1925149
Yo dutty! Pdx I couldn't see the picture. And damn. Did you stress train your plant? I'm just learned about that now so I didn't do it this time around but I will try on my next grow. I also thought the p600 was a bit long but luckily it fit well. As far as soil... I can't remember the one I used right now. It'll come to me. I probably said it in my original post. The link is on my first post on this thread. For food I'm using Neem Seed Meal and I just been adding two table spoons per 1 gallon of distilled water. I let it steep for at least 24 hours then I feed it to them. That's all I've been doing though. No PH checking or anything. Oh yea, I ran out of soil for my last transplant and I ran to the only open place and they had this organic..... Wait for it... Miracle grow. I read through the packaging and honestly it didn't look bad so I picked it up and crossed my fingers.
Not sure if this is that good but they are a month into flowering now. It's my first grow and keep in mind I vegged them under horrible cfls (I'll never do that again) l
Thanks. They looks small to me. But it's my first time. I wonder what they'll yield. Can't wait though.
Subbed up bro lookin good so far. I'm new like u so I can't say much bout the size of them and yield but I'm jus hopin I can see some buds soon got a couple more weeks b4 the flip. But I'm rocking wit the platinum p4-xml2 and I've seen a great response from my girls so far. Good luck on the grow bro!!!
For sure! I'll let ya know how they turn up with my updates. I was thinking the same thing but I thought maybe since it's organic and it doesn't have time released nutes it could work out. Thanks for the input.
Lol yea I know. The root system is big though. They are small but they vegged for almost two months under cfls. I feel like the roots might have gotten big but not the actual plant.
Plants look good! Diggin those large pots. I used to grow in smaller pots till I realized the advantages of having an enormous root zone. More light during veg would have helped. And now you have it And if the roots are well established, your flowers should come out just as healthy. Peace V
