Paranoia/Anxiety days after weed

  1. I've seen many threads talking about this, but only about the day of the toke. I haven't seen much about it as a type of "hangover". Anyways every time I smoke the days after I end up acting paranoid out of my mind. I feel anxiety and I feel so much stress. I can't smoke frequently so I end up feeling paranoid for a week or two unless I light up again. I don't know why it does that and if it has something to do with the cannabanoids lingering in your body. I would love to hear remedies to this, why it happens or other stories. I don't think I'm the only one. I might actually quit because the side effects are too much. Please help!

  2. I would think u suffer from social anxiety disorder. Marijuana has been studied to trigger such in people with existing conditions. First, discuss with ur doctor. Then I would hold off on smoking or research strains that directly address u conditions. Good luck. What paranoid thoughts do u have? Voices? Thinking the end of the world is coming? U r having dialogues in ur head and have to talk ur self down to be calm?

  3. The first thing I'd consider is what it is I'm smoking. All weed is not the same and perhaps that strain is not for you.

Weed itself is not for everyone so if you are having banana side effects then stopping is the way to go unless you have other strains you'd like to try out first.

Remember, it's not supposed to be a chore or a major trade off regarding quality of life. Either do it because you enjoy it and with ease, or don't.

  4. This may be a symptom of some underlying mental health condition. If this is affecting your life in a bad way maybe it's time to talk to a doc, or a shrink, even a therapist would be able to give you some tips on how to get comfortable with life. I don't think it has to do with the weed though. That's why it gets better when you toke. Lots of people talk to their doctors about mental health stuff, lots of us here are in treatment. Good luck!

  5. At first I thought I was developing schizophrenia but I don't hear voices or feel crazy. I just feel anxious, paranoid (like the cops are coming and I'm screwed) I feel guilty and like my heart is going to explode. Thanks for the reply I feel alright at the moment and I'm taking magnesium to help. Should I keep toking?

  6. there are strains that promote paranoia. Leafly has a good summary of what each strain in their database contributes to. I would start there. If it continues I would talk to my docs. Obviously I would stop anything that did not make me feel good about using.

  7. you have an anxiety disorder that you get relief from when you use marijuana (born into the Reefer Madness propaganda era doesn't help either, thus the noids about cops and being caught toking).

i.e..you are self medicating vs seeing a doctor and taking some pharmaceutical poisons that cause internal organ damage and shorten your life span, just to get that same relief you currently get from a few puffs of herb.

    1. yes, you should toke if it gives you relief from a physical or mental condition.
    2. monitor your usage to see what 'dosage' works best for you in your daily life (same method doctors use).
    3. continue toking to get your relief as needed, and do not abuse your medication.

  8. guilty by association with the herb. as long as you feel guilty about smoking you will have anxiety

  9. Many compounds in Cannabis linger in the body for days after the consumption of if. I myself find that I too have a "hangover" about a week after consuming cannabis if I haven't smoked again in this time. I find that taking CBD supplements such as tinctures help keep me feeling good and evened out after smoking and don't experience a "crash" of sorts.

  10. I've tried using magnesium supplements because it helps with migraines the spinal cord/brain functions and is muscle relaxer. Maybe it's a placebo affect and it's fine if it is but I feel better. Maybe I'm just crazy lol

  11. I had the exact same problem for a long time, as I continued to smoke it finally went away, eventually figured out it was a false sense of guilt for torching
