SALT LAKE CITY -- A bill that could legalize medical cannabis in Utah has been introduced in the state legislature.

    Senator Madsen :


    "...I think we need to push past the emotion and propaganda that's been
    promulgated over the years to get to the facts. Once people look at it
    with an eye toward facts and freedom, we might change some opinions," he
    said. "'Reefer Madness' is neither medical research nor public policy.
    It's a propaganda movie and we can't be basing our policy on that
    anymore, I believe."






     
  2. It will die in the House. There are too many Mormons in SLC for this to pass. The sun will burn out before medical marijuana is allowed in the sacred hallowed grounds of Mormondom. :p
     
  3. I once thought the same way about Utah and gay marriage.. Salt Lake is actually pretty progressive honestly. It's not till Utah County that you get problems
     
  4. Almost all of law enforcement in SLC is Mormon. They have a strong influence in drug legislation. I really don't see it happening unless, like gay marriage, it becomes federal law.
