XB1 Backwards Compatibility

  1. I can't find anything on this so maybe I'm the only one with the problem.

First off, I'm glad the update was free....or I'd be all up in all kinds of going crazy.

It doesn't work. I tossed in my copy of Mass Effect and was promptly told to put in an Xbox one disc.

There's one glaring thing Microsoft needs to fix. If you have a game installed from disc, you obviously own the game. Why the fuck do you need the disc to launch the game??? If you download a title, you don't need the disc.

It's been this way even through the 360 and it's so simple to correct it's stupid.

  2. Its for DRM.. If all I needed was the disc one time what would stop be from borrowing my friends entire collection, downloading them all then returning all the games back? Exactly.

  3. They are also beginning to eliminate split screen in games. The greed is just horrendous.

  4. What he said.

Oh and the backwards compatibility works fine for me, I was just downloading Just Cause 2.

  5. lmao @ all the PS4 users who said...

"Who cares. I didn't buy a new console to play my old games."

Now that Sony has stated they are working on PS2 emulation they're all like [IMG]

  6. anyone else playing gears? I got them all for free since I have the ultimate edition

  7. Hmm been considering itn

  8. They said that if it's backwards compatible but if you read the small print it only works on like 100 games but is a start on the right direction

  9. More are coming. Emulation can be really finicky at times. They probably have to go through every single game and individually configure them.

All in all I'm glad. I still have my 360 so for me it's not really needed but it's a nice feature to have. Hopefully it will up the population on some of the old multiplayer games.

  10. They just are catering to the biggest audience, and right now that's online gamers. Look at all the games that are only online multiplayer.

Its pretty sad right now for rural/couch coop gamers.

  11. Hopefully they release skyrim by the time i'm bored with fallout 4
