Hello and welcome to my grow from scratch [IMG] my name is Robert, my friends and family call me Bud, I am having tons of fun with this grow so far and am keeping the budget real low with a 175w MH (150w compatible) ballast kit-free, ducting to ceiling exhaust fan-13$, 250w NEW hps ballast kit and NEW bulb-50$, 6" 240cfm booster fan-21$ on sale,$4 timer from home depot and I found a timer in a box of junk-free.. Total $88.00 for both a Veg room and a Flower room ( you can add 30$ for the plywood for the flower room and the $10 garage sale dresser to bring total to $128)

Got some uknown Strawberry Cough and uknown Blueberry, Local dispensary AND some"Nirvanashop" Master Kush and finally " Nirvana freebies" ALL regular seeds ALL planted in solo cups of crappy turf king soil (organic from here on out), I am debating on collecting some pollen and experimenting with some breeding..

I plan on keeping it legal and keeping the 4 plant rule, seedlings count as plants under the new law so i need to weed out the males and extra females ASAP gonna be 3 different strains in the veg room and 1 going in the flower room under the 250w hps

VEG ROOM 175w MH + 42w (true watts) CFL (2 in the future) and 6" ducting running up to the bathroom ceiling fan 3.5'x2.5'x1.5'

ahh yes I just addressed that a couple days ago, I got them as close as I can get to the MH without temps hitting 90 degrees, and stretching has slowed massively

  4. right on right on. If you take a pair of sunglasses and hold it over the camera lens you can get rid of those lines in future pics. Drives me nuts when I'm trying to get a good picture and all you see is them damn lines haha.

  7. If your temp is at 80F lights on and then lights go off and it drops to 65F thats too big of a drop. You want to try and stay around 77F. Lights off temp should be a drop of 5 - 7| degrees Fahrenheit for maximum growth. Plants rest at lights off and roots do alot of growing then...at 65 there not growing as well as they Could be!

thank you very much for the info, ill have to keep the room heated at night, the temps are mostly 75 degrees all day, they only reach 80 when the door is open for too long, will 75 all day and 70 during night hours be acceptable? im trying to keep my carbon footprint to a minimum, but not at the cost of quality

nearly finished setting up flower room 250w HPS + 240cfm cheapo 6" booster fan....Edit: got a small oil heater in the "grow room" for night time temps and found a couple 3.5 gal pots that fit perfectly, instead of doing just the one in a 5 gallon..figure 7 gal>5
    [IMG]

Screen is 8 inches from top of pots and 21 inches from the bulb, so if my colas are under 15" ill be ok for space, if not I can always tie em somewhere

  11. I have some questions for you guys here on the forum, I received my ph meter today, my tap water is 7.1, a bit high, but I soaked one of my plants and tested the run off and it was 6.4. my question is.. ... should I lower the ph of the water with some ph down or should I just leave it alone and let my soil regulate the ph? if I do need to lower the ph of the water what should I get the numbers to? 6.5? 6.0? thank you very much in advance

  13. Ohh yea man, thats optimal range. Growth happens rapidly when temps are correct.

  14. Thats not the clone you want t o use is it? U need some stem for cloning. How you gonna cut that on a 45? Take a clone after a node and before another, leaving some stem for rooting.

  15. A PH of 7 is okay in soil, fuck i dont even check it. Soil will buffer some of the shit man its really not nessecary but if it makes you feel better and you have a pen....do it lol how often do you water? Leaves look real full of water and a little clawing? Do u use any calmag at all?

you mean that cut? its just the first "topping" I am going to wait a couple more weeks to clone, by then there should be plenty of room to take a clone.. yesterday (day 15) was the 4th water so about once every 3 or 4 days, I have a moisture meter and I have been waiting till the soil is basically bone dry so over watering is probably not an issue here, no cal mag, I am going organic with eggshell/ vinegar, epsom salt and fox farm big bloom (earthworm casting+bat guano)..I havnt fed them those yet because I used some shitty slow release soil in the solo cups (b4 I decided to go organic) and I am afraid of nutrient lock, I did feed them some molasses yesterday though.. I have a feeling they are a bit sickly from the garbage soil, its n-p-k is 24-6-12 slow release , the ones I transplanted in into the organic soil are looking healthier by the day.

  17. Nice and yes in was talking about the cut lol i thought you said that was your clone haha and it sounds like you've done your homework. Not every plant is gonna have every beautiful lush leaves everywhere. Imo, its the same way some humans are prettier,if that makes any sence. I believe people always look for problems the first time a leaf moves a little. You'll be fine, you got all your shit straight. No amount of research EVEN comes close to the knowledge you gain from experience. (OVER READING CAUSES PLANTS TO DIE) trying to fix problems that aren't there and 3times the shit pops up.

DAY #21 since the addition of the small oil heater the temps are around 70 degrees at night..up to 83 in the daytime but thats just on the top leaves and top of the soil..the veg room itself is 75 degrees all day

MK#1 and one of the Nirvana freebies (N#1) are going into the flower room today, should be about time to start the outdoor as soon as these 2 are done (got a small greenhouse only about 6 foot tall, doing 1 outdoor)

from the color and height of the plants my best guess is MK#1 and #2 are female, along with the "triploid" freebie (all super green and shorter).. the rest of the plants are much taller and have a lighter green color making me think they are male..we shall see =)

-ALL of the plants have now been topped once

    MK#3 (still looking sickly)[IMG]

"Triploid" dont think this is a triploid just had a wierd siamese twin leaf or something LOOKIN like a keeper[IMG]

Freebie #1 going into flower with the MK#1 (I think the freebie#1 or N#1 is a male by the color and height)[IMG]
