    Hello,

I am an amateur gardener, started planting some vegetables in my garden to make nice salads. I noticed that there was a mushroom growing just next to my plants. It got me thinking whether it is safe to eat these vegetables. I have no idea if the mushroom is poisonous or not. I would really appreciate for a help.

    Best,
    Riza.

  2. Pretty sure mushrooms are a fungus not a vegetable.

  3. "Vegetables" to make "salads". Yeah ok.

  4. Post a picture of the mushroom. It may or not be safe to eat.

  5. Yeah "vegetable garden". I'll play along.

OP whatever you do DO NOT eat it. I grew a certain kind of mushroom for a good year and in that time researched a plethora of other species and never would I eat one I wasnt sure about. Even people with decades of experience can be wrong goinf off just looks. Please dont kill yourself.

If you were seriously curious about this mushroom and just wanted to know, pluck it with gloves on and dispose.

If this is an implied thread about a special mushroom PM me and I will help you, dont want you getting hurt. For respect of the forum rules I wont get into it on this thread.

  7. If youre just curious though research how to take a spore print and you can identify the species then.

  8. when saying vegetables he means weed, and when saying eat he means smoke. Pretty sure he's not asking about eating these random mushrooms but rather smoking buds that have had random fungus growing next to them.

I am new to the forum. I meant vegetables with 'vegetables', not weed or something else.
Anyway, thank you for the help on this.

I decided to not to eat these vegetables. No need to put my health in jeopardy for a couple of salad stuff.

OP i read your post wrong when you said veggies I thought you meant the shrooms lol. Your vegetables will be fine to eat! 99.99% of dangerous mushrooms cant hurt you from skin contact and the only thing that could've got on your veggies is dust from the spore print (how they reproduce) which shouldnt harm you.

Poisonous mushrooms are poisonous due to chemicals that react with body enzymes so they have to be ingested.

Just give the veggies a nice wash under some cold (maybe warm if they wont wilt) water and enjoy the fruits of your labor!

  11. Agree with magoo they will be fine.

Was reading a thing other day about spores and shit.
Take bud rot for instance. Apparently the spores which cause this are on literally everything we eat and touch. So if you ever get bud rot all the salvageable bud is safe to toke.

I hate mushrooms so to me there all poison lol

  12. haha thought OP was speaking in tongues and riddles or some shit like that.

  13. Thanks for the help! I will safely enjoy my salad :)

  14. Don't pluck it, it's a sign of good soil
