  1. Hi

    I'm from europe..

I started this project a month or so ago, basically for fun and personal use..

the seeds are autoflowering ak-49's from vision seeds.. mm..
    the box is a mammoth darkroom 60 cm * 60 cm * 160 cm (or approx 2 feet? * 2 feet * 5 feet), cost me about 80 bucks..
the pots are some 12 liters (3 gallon) smartpots.. I planted the seed directly into a lightmix soil, in a biodegradable cup, surrounded by a layer of some more lightmix, and the rest is plagron batmix..
the bulbs are two 24 watts sylvana cfls, one "blue" and one "red", both at some 1200 lumens, and then there's the led phillips bulb, 2700kelvin, LED standard 100 W (15 W), E27, 1510 lumens...
    there's also the hortilab fan..
and that's about it... the whole thing cost me about 240 local bucks....

so, I first planted the first seed the 18th of October... the first three pictures were taken on the 25th, then the other ones are from today.. I planted another seed about a week ago, I'm not sure about this one, anyway it's here finally..

so today I started doing the LST with those wires.. as I'm not convinced of what I did so I decided to come here, share my experience and possibly get some feedback.. thank you in advance [IMG]

    yep yep yep..

63 watt total? Im surprised it got that big.

I would say add watts. Watt equivalent doesnt really count for growing. Its better but that 15w is not as good as 100w.

    I posted a cheap cfl thread. http://forum.grasscity.com/absolute-beginners/1390...
Theres europe 220v and american 110v there.

The sprectrum is important but the wattage is most important.

Im noob too so all i can say is good ventilation, reflection, watts, timing, and luck.

Temp, humidity, nutrients, and pH 5.0-6.0

Also, if you want full veg then stay around the 6400k spectrum. 5500k in my thread works good tho. 2700k for flowering. But like i said better to have both than just 1 since more watts

You Only need both spectrums for a 12/12 from seed.

  3. Doin' alright, you only need about 50 watts per square foot and at that size you have it covered for now. Many people believe watts = weight and that 1 watt can produce 1 gram (less for newer growers, more for experienced), so I agree you will want to add more light if you can.

I don't LST much but I think you could be more aggressive in the bend. These plants are downright tough. Don't go crazy, but DO have some duct tape on hand. I use a method where I bend and crimp (just holding the bend for a moment) the very top growing shoot over/in half to stop the height and encourage the side growth (just during veg stage). Well sometimes, I'll bend it over a bit too much, and they do *SNAP!* <oh shit!> sometimes, but I just grab a bit of duct tape and line the branch back up straight and tape it back up. They heal amazingly fast and within a week i'm having to bend over the next/new internode to slow it down again <not so far this time, this one ain't no pole dancer, lol>.

  4. LST is simple. Youre doing fine. You can bend it more if you want. Just tie it off and leave it. Do it again in a few weeks

Yeah.. ok... so bad news... I overwatered...

I'm hoping for a recovery by not giving them any more water... I also tried to make holes with a fondue fork so the soil dries better....

I bought a 18-3W full spectrum LED spot in the meantime, it was growing so well until yesterday... damn, it nwas going so strong and rsponding very well to the LST...

should I just wait it out???

The same thing is happening to the little seedling... and the other one is kinda my roommates and he decided to top it...

    :(

I'm wondering if I couldn't just change the soil in order to save the big one at least? bad idea?

and I also forgot to mention that I didn't give them any nutrients... just gave them the fish tank's water, in which there's only three little fish...

.......set the bags on some news paper, a thick pile with a fan blowing....it will wick out tons of water fast....pot should dry overnight alot..........see if it perks back up..........very stressed plant wont transplant well........keep fingers crossed for ya.....

  8. ok so thank you, I put the newspapers underneath the pots and put the fan closer... hope it works... although as these are "smart pots" I thought they would have dried faster already, it's been two days I think, I noticed yesterday afternoon and didn't give them any more water :/
