So I created my own organic soil mix in a 80 gallon tank. I noticed when stirring the middle is pretty warm. This is normal right? Just like composting?
yes sir - it IS composting and with soil it's sometimes referred to as nutrient cycling - where the organic matter, including the soil amendments you added to the mix are breaking down into forms your plants can use. I'd give it a few weeks and you should be good to go. GL J
