I've been researching how to make a small successful aquaponic grow-op. While many people are skeptical and say aquaponic won't work for marijuana because the chlorate levels get too high for the fish, to you I say 'Tilapia'. I'm starting with an 60 gallon fish tank, and I'm hoping to find one 12" deep 60 gallon grow bed, or two 30 gallon beds for my clay pellets. I'm going to provide oxygen with a pump and stone, a thermometer and an automatic feeder for my fish tank. I'm also considering a sophisticated PH reader. I'll use a water pump to provide the ebb and flow through the grow beds, and a bell siphon to drain. I'm hoping to plant roughly 12 plants, depending on how much room I feel I have. I'll be purchasing a 400 watt HID light. If anybody has any suggestions or reasons this may not work, I'd be glad to hear them. It's precisely why I'm posting here.
