  1. Ok so i have a 8x4x7 grow room

Two 600 watt air cooled Mh bulbs with ballast and reflector

I currently have ducting coming from an external AC unit into both bulbs and out the tent and room. The duct eventually leaves out a window.

My AC stays at 74 degrees

The lights stay cool. Very cool

I also have an intake fan bringing in fresh ambient air from my town home. The temperature in my apartment is 74 degrees. And I have an out take hooked to a carbon filter also leaving the tent on the other side of the tent and going out a window

However for some reason I cannot get my grow space to stay below 80 degrees!

Can someone help!!! Please what am I doing wrong ??? ImageUploadedByGrasscity Forum1444609914.726485.jpg

  2. Your thermometer would probably register a lower temp if you hung it at the level your canopy would be at instead of sticking the magnet side to your hood.

Also, it is more common to run AC to cool the room, not the bulbs.

  3. I agree

But my AC is always on 74. So the grow tent should be 74. Not above 80

  4. Do I need another duct fan ?

  5. I would use one 6" ~400cfm inline fan to exhaust heat from the hoods, and another with your carbon scrubber to exhaust stale air from the room. Duct both of them out the window. Put your ac duct into one of the intake holes at the bottom of your tent and call it good.

It might say that it is 80F right at hood level but that is not important. what is important is the temperature at canopy level. 80F really isn't bad at all anyway.

    just my $0.02

  6. Thanks TJ. I just ordered another Fan. T will be arriving today. I will update to see how things work

  7. Using the A/C to lower the temps in the room is the best option. Moving the air over the hoods quickly and have it blowing air instead of sucking would be the way to do it if you can fit it in that way. Put it the fan before the hoods and have the ac cooling the room. Program it to be a little lower then your ideal temp. It should be between 65-75 inside.

  8. Ok. So it sounds like the best option is to buy a portable AC unit.
