Oregon started recreational marijuana sales on October 1 with 250 stores ready for business from day one. A much bigger splash than Denver
or Washington. One reason Oregon was able to get product to the shelves quickly is that the state does not test for pesticides.

Colorado began its recreational marijuana sales without testing for pesticides and found the consumers were unaware of whether a product was tainted or not. The Organic Cannabis Association in Denver is about to launch its pesticide-free certification program.

Normally, the USDA would regulate what is organic or pesticide free. However, “organic” is a federally regulated term and the USDA doesn't recognize marijuana as a legitimate agricultural crop.

The Organic Cannabis Association is a member-based organization that is developing standards and providing an independent review of products.Pesticides are considered one of the biggest issues and challenges in the marijuana industry. Many pesticides are used for controlling mildew or flies

The Oregon Department of Agriculture warned marijuana growers to not use illegal pesticides. However, The Oregonian/Oregon Live had two laboratories run tests and found pesticides including roach killer. Oregon is currently trying to determine what will be allowed and what will be banned, but for now it's an honor system.

This past June, the Cannabis Safety Institute released a report that found indicated “that pesticides can now be found on close to half of the cannabis sold in Oregon dispensaries.” There are plenty of companies that can test the product, however each state has a different testing standard.

“Right now there's a crisis brewing with pesticide residue and we desperately need the federal government to get involved,” said Cindy Orser, Chief Science Officer at DigiPath Labs, a cannabis testing company. She noted that the EPA won't even discuss which pesticides are
safe. “They don't want to talk about it because they don't recognize it. There are no approved pesticides for the use on cannabis.“

Orser noted that the problems tend to happen in the very large indoor grow rooms, some the size of a CostCo. Since most states don't allow for outdoor farming, the indoor farming has its own set of problems. “If something gets in, it's extremely difficult to get rid of it,” said Orser.

Granted many of the fruits and vegetables that we buy at the grocery store have been grown with fertilizers and pesticides. The real problem here is that there are no tested and approved pesticides for cannabis.

  2. There is a fungi that attracts insects.

When these insects consume the fungi, the fungi inside eventually grows from the inside out, resulting in a natural pesticide.

Of course it would be bad news for insects. I wonder how it would affect the evolution of insects and whether or not it would affect food chain and insect migrations.

    Maybe even insect behavior?

Just sayin tho, you can search it up. This dude has a patent on that particular fungi, the natural pesticide.

A larger concern of mine is not pesticides but genetically modified marijuana plants.

Consuming GMOs no doubt alters our own genes.

The true war is not a physical war, nor is it a war on drugs.

It is a war based on psychological and abstract factors such as freedom, self esteem, integrity, confidence, unconditional love, wisdom (not knowledge, knowledge is flourishing wisdom is decreasing ), spirituality, unity, truth, etc..

  3. Also genetic warfare, psychic, creativity, community, etc..

  4. show us what made u make such an absurd claim.

  5. Fox news said it was so. Lol

  6. If you would stop clogging up your third eye with fluoridated water and toothpaste you'd see the truth.

  7. Riiighht. Well now, glad u provided no clarity to a most simplistic inquiry. Worthless response from u.

  8. ha! I was just kidding man. Happy Thanksgiving.

  9. Lmao, silly human, its only worthless if you are worthless.

There is a lot of evidence, that bit about "sodium fluoride" in our water supply and toothpaste is but a sliver of a sliver of the tip of the iceberg.

As far as GMOs altering DNA, it can appear as "holes in intestines", "damage to brain functions as well as the brain itself", and even in "mood/motivation level", also changes our "tastes in food".

You shouldn't be the lazy, skeptical, negative one, expecting all the answers from some people on a forum website. Do some of your own research instead of spreading hate vibes.

You can even experiment on yourself, if you wish, although "awareness" is essential, otherwise you could be consuming GMOs and wouldn't notice anything too bizarre. Because you wouldn't be able to comprehend such things would even exist.

Awareness (observation) is not self-consciousness (analyzation), most believe that they are the same and can be used interchangeably.

Awareness has to do with "soul", on the other hand, those folks who are more self-conscious (90% of earth population) are much more ego projective.

I say, it must be nice to put down others when a certain somebody didnt know shit in the first place, lol.

I am not an anal who lies, you see I use both sides of the brain as one, and that is just a glimpse of my biological endeavors. I only speak truth, however it is up to you, whether you would either like to see that it is or that it is not.

If you do not even appreciate yourself, don't blame the world for turning its back on you. The most important hurdle to jump over as humans is to "believe in your-self".

Believing in anything "external" is secondary.

The meaning of "man" (not biological term, a metaphysical term) is most significant, more than basic survival needs such as food, water, and shelter.

There's nothing wrong with ego-oriented beings, but many remain fixated on the infantile degrees of awareness either out of sheer ignorance as they were conditioned that way within societal standards and status quo, or through fear of the unknown. Fear of shadows too, even your own shadow, the one inside you that you cannot see with your 2 physical eyeballs that create 1 sense of vision.

Those that are stuck in the primal degrees of awareness will walk the psycho-path, and will experience a shatter in their inner world, thereby resulting in narcissistic, voyeuristic, self-absorbed, etc.. behavior and will juggle a dazzling array of defense mechanisms to maintain a sense of comfort no matter what, even if it is complete illusion. Because it feels safe and cozy.

The truth is simple, but it is far from convenient. Truth be told, comfort is the death of life, or perhaps if you can "under-stand" effectively getting off a high horse, it is the life of death in human experience.

There is no comfort in growth and no growth in comfort. Welcome to reality :) good luck.

    Peace through pieces.

  10. Btw, forgot to mention the difference between "sodium fluoride" and "calcium fluoride".

SF is toxic to the human body.

CF is essential and it benefits the human body.
