Discussion in 'First Time Marijuana Growers' started by Aut0GRow3RUK, Oct 8, 2015.

  1. Hello grasscity I have a royal dwarf autoflower she's is just about ready for harvest i checked her trichs there all cloudy and some amber here and therw coming in. I'm in coco so I started my first flush yesterday and going to continue for the next 5 days or so I was wondering if I could trim of all her leaves to allow maximum light to the buds for the last few days or will this hurt her ??

You are going to get mixed reviews on this some say sure take the leaves, while others will say let the leaves stay. Both have their reasonings but the choice will remains yours, search the forum there are plenty of thourogh conversations on the matter. Good Luck
Why does this have me quoting Super joint?
    Instead of the OP

  3. I would like to trim, but it is a pity such beautiful plants[IMG]

  4. Just the last couple of days, I doubt you will see an effect either way. The swelling and packing on weight should be done by that point anyway.

  5. Some people take off the water leaves to save time on trimming before harvest

  6. Thanks for the replys Im wanting to trim her just so the bottom buds can get that Lil extra light i think it would be better for her for last few days some of the buds on the bottom still have white hairs I thought they were all ment to change amber.
Also this is my first grow I've still got 2 other girls this is just my smallest what's finished first

  7. Cut the fan leaves (anything with a stalk). Leave the "sugar" leaves (anything growing directly out of the bud). You can trim and save the sugar leaves when you take the crop.
Now... I always do this, and always question if it helps... you can take all the top canopy buds at one time, lower your light, and leave the lower buds to finish. I swear, this makes all the sense in the world, but I never see any further "finishing" from the lower buds. But I keep doing it anyway because (a) it doesn't hurt and (b) I can never trim all that weed at one time anyway.
Hope this helps. Welcome to Grass City & bestaluck to ya.

  8. I just trimmed her there took some of the bigger leaves off not sure if it's going to do anything but she's coming down in the next 2 days or so anyways

  9. You probably could trim them down, but I don't see you getting too much benefit from it at this point. If you trim all the leaves off, you're going to stress the plant. Any time you stress the plant, you slow down it's natural growth cycle....to recover from the stress. If it were me, I would leave it alone. The plants naturally defoliate themselves to some degree toward the end of the flower cycle anyway, so why take the chance. If you're going to trim, do it right before you pull or right when you pull since, IMO, it's much easier to give them a good trim then as opposed to waiting until they hang a day or two and dry. It really gets tough to trim them then. TWW
