Vaping from a dirty Vaporizer (Pax)

  1. Hello,
I didn't see this question asked yet, forgive me if it has. I know the Pax should be cleaned regularly, it seems after every 4th session. The problem is I use my Pax all day, so I'd have to clean it daily to adhere to that.

So...I don't clean it daily, usually monthly. I know, quite a few extra sessions. I do notice at a certain point after not cleaning for awhile that I'll cough immediately when vaping on the lowest temp. That's when I know I absolutely must clean it.

Three questions regarding vaping from an unclean Pax:

    1. Am I putting my health at risk by using it dirty? Worse for my lungs because of the built up resin inside?

    2. How often should it be cleaned?

    3. After cleaning, I run it on high temp for awhile and let all the vapor run out of it. But it seems on high temp now it just continues to produce vapor, even though I just cleaned it and there's no flower in it.

BTW, I only use flower ground up well with a small grinder.

Thanks all! I love my Pax but want to make sure I'm treating it and myself correctly.....

  2. From what I've read, I'm not the only one who doesn't clean my Pax that often. So seems like maybe it's not that big of a deal. But wasn't sure if anyone had any specific info or experiences with this.

  3. I use my a lot too and have found they will start giving you issues if not cleaned regularly. I now have caked on residue in the oven area that will take some serious elbow grease to ever get out. Also, had problems with the temperature button sticking. All could have been avoided if cleaned more. You're definitely not helping your health by letting the resin build up. I clean after a out going through 5 oven full sessions. I don't use the highest temperature setting so I have no idea what is going on there. Hope this helps you

  4. I do a through scraping of residue and alcohol cleaning after every four sessions. It's kind of a pain, but the weed tastes so much better smoked from a clean Pax. Also, the cleaner it is, the lower the temp settings you can use, which helps to prevent build up in the oven from running it really hot. Besides, running it real hot ruins the taste anyway.
